FloriDUH conspiracy nut Julie Sulpizio & her family planned to ambush neighbors they thought were "pedophiles," kills cop instead

It is not clear if any of her neighbors were on the registry, but the registry likely played a role in this murder.

A Florida mom claimed her neighbors were pedophiles and tried to have them killed, authorities say. Deputies were ambushed, instead

By Tim Stelloh

A Florida mother whose family is accused of ambushing law enforcement officers, killing one and injuring two, had sought to lure neighbors who she believed were pedophiles into a fatal trap at her home but was interrupted by authorities, law enforcement officials said Monday.

A search of the family’s home in Eustis, northwest of Orlando, revealed more than 20 high-caliber rifles, shotguns and pistols that had been staged around the living room, Lake County Sheriff Peyton Grinnell said at a news conference.

Authorities also found a stockpile of ammunition, body armor, gas masks, ready-to-eat meals, ghillie (camouflage) suits, anti-government propaganda and media promoting conspiracy theories, Grinnell said.

"This was nothing short of an ambush. The evidence will show that," Bill Gladson, state attorney for Florida's Fifth Judicial Circuit, told reporters.

Julie Sulpizio, 48, was arrested on suspicion of murder, attempted murder and other crimes, court records show. She is being held without bail.

Because of the nature of the alleged crime, the case must go before a grand jury within 21 days, Gladson said. Sulpizio's arraignment is scheduled for Sept. 3.

The public defender assigned to represent Sulpizio could not immediately be reached for comment Tuesday.

Her husband, Michael Sulpizio, was found dead in the family’s home Friday after, Grinnell said, he fatally shot Lake County Master Deputy Bradley Link, 28, and critically injured a second officer, Deputy First Class Stefano Gargano.

A third officer, Master Deputy Sheriff Harold Howell, was also wounded.

Michael Sulpizio and the couple’s two adult daughters were all found dead on the family’s couch, Grinnell said. The body camera on Link, the fatally injured deputy, who was inside the family’s home when he was shot multiple times, appeared to have captured the Sulpizios taking their own lives, Grinnell added.

The sheriff's office first responded to the scene at 7:45 p.m. Friday, when authorities were told that a woman — later identified as Julie Sulpizio — was assaulting her neighbors, whom she accused of "being sinners," and saying, 'I know what you did,'" Grinnell said.

After an officer arrived, Julie Sulpizio identified herself as "Helen under God's will" and said her neighbors were involved in pedophilia, Grinnell said. One of the neighbors told the officer that Julie Sulpizio had tried to get them to walk to her house, Grinnell said, but that they didn't trust her.

In a later interview with investigators, Sulpizio said she was trying to lure them to her home so her husband could kill them, Grinnell said.

"She was not successful because of our deputies," he said.

A detective investigating the case said at the news conference that investigators found bumper stickers, fliers and handouts promoting anti-government propaganda and conspiracy theories at the home. The detective did not say whether the material is linked to the incident.

In her interview with investigators, the detective said, Sulpizio said that she could “visualize souls” and that it was her job to bring her husband “dark souls.”

After Sulpizio was handcuffed, Grinnell said, deputies tried to conduct a welfare check at her family's nearby home. Officers found two dead dogs in the front yard and a window screen that had been kicked out, he said.

Inside, they saw three people running and believed a burglary or a home invasion may have been in progress, he said.

After roughly an hour, Grinnell said, the deputies announced themselves and failed to reach anyone side. They entered the home through a laundry room, Grinnell said, and Link's body camera captured a man who appeared to be wearing body armor positioned with a rifle on a couch.

The gunman, believed to be Michael Sulpizio, fired several rounds, striking Link in the back, Grinnell said. Howell was hit in the wrist, Grinnell said, and he and other deputies retreated.

When officers tried to negotiate with the Sulpizios for the release of Link's body, Grinnell said, a woman in the home was captured on the deputy's body camera racking her gun and yelling, "My king will kill all of you."

Around 9:30 p.m., a tactical unit entered through the laundry room and was met with a volley of gunfire, Grinnell said. Deputy First Class Stefano Gargano, who had a ballistics shield, was struck with multiple high-caliber rounds through a wall, incapacitating him, Grinnell said.

As other deputies tried to remove him, they were being "actively engaged by suspects," Grinnell added, calling the officers "heroes."

At 11:02 p.m., Grinnell said, two gunshots were heard in quick succession. A third one was heard moments later.

Inside, authorities found the bodies of Michael Sulpizio and the two daughters, Savannah Sulpizio, 23, and Cheyenne Sulpizio, 22, Grinnell said.

Gargano is stable and Howell is expected to make a full recovery. Link was airlifted to a hospital and pronounced dead, Grinnell said.

The sheriff’s office said Link had worked for the department since 2019 and "quickly became part of our family and faithfully served our citizens with courage and zeal."

Karin Ahrman, Ocala FL's would-be vigilante discovers most folks don't care about registered persons living in the neighborhood

In 2017, Karin Ahrman of Ocala FL made headlines for posting a sign about her neighbor after she was confronted for harassing the man with excessive fliers. She soon learned that not everyone in FloriDUH agree with vigilante scumbag tactics, as evidenced by this A&E report.

I should note the crazy cat lady got my earlier report about her taken down despite

'A Sex Offender Moved In': One Woman's Fight to Warn Families in Her Neighborhood
MARIA RICAPITO

In June 2017 Karin Ahrman of Ocala, Florida, received a flyer in her mailbox notifying her that a registered sex offender had moved to her neighborhood. Ahrman, who has a 13-year-old son, soon realized his home was only a few houses away—not only close to her home, but also to other homes with children as well as two schools. Ahrman asked around to see if other neighbors received the flyer and discovered it had only been distributed to a few houses close to the offender. This is when she took matters into her own hands. She talks to A&E Real Crime about her fight to inform her community about their need for vigilance against sexual offenders.

What is your neighborhood like?

It is really quiet and friendly. When we moved here, 15 years ago, it was all senior citizens. Now the houses are being sold to younger families. On this block, there’s an apartment building with a lot of kids, and these kids walk past [the offender’s] house to and from elementary school every day. The reason I put the sign out was for the kids to know to watch for him and for parents to be aware, because we only got the notice within 12 houses of him. It didn’t go very far around the neighborhood. I walked two blocks down and asked if they got it, and they didn’t.

What upset you the most?

I was shocked that [this man] can be that close to schools. That’s my main thing. And children live right next door to him! How is that possible? …[If you’re a registered sex offender in Florida, the rules are] you can’t be within 1,000 feet of a school, you can’t go to a playground, you have to stay, I think it’s 1,000 feet from a playground or anywhere where kids live or congregate, such as libraries, ice cream parlors and toy stores.

Some jurisdictions have community notification meetings where they might tell you what kind of supervision an offender is under or what restrictions he has. Did yours?

No. We had to look him up on the federal sex-offender site. He’s not just a person that has offended once. He’s identified as a predator on the site. He has multiple convictions—not accusations, convictions. He did time. He got out [of prison] then he did it again, and did more time. Now he’s down my street.

What happened after you started telling people?

When he first got here, I posted the information on my Facebook page. A friend of mine contacted me privately. She said that she has relatives with children (10 to 12 years old) who go to this house after school. The family had no idea that they were going to the house of a predator and staying there two or three hours. Without my post, they would never have known to pull the kids out of there.

When you put the sign out in your front yard, what kind of reaction did you get?

That was kind of mixed. And I had to fight my husband about it. I literally told him, ‘We will divorce over this sign. The sign will stay here.’ I was molested when I was four. I was raped when I was 12, so this is personal to me.

We have [the offender’s] picture on the sign. And I only put what was public knowledge on it. People tried getting me to take it down. They called the police. And [the police] all said that it’s perfectly legal. It’s no different from me putting up a political sign, a religious sign or whatever, because it’s my property. It was the facts that were put in my mailbox. It was public knowledge.

On the National Sex Offender Public Registry website there is a disclaimer that says, ‘Any person who uses information contained in…this Website to threaten, intimidate, or harass any individual, including registrants or family members, or who otherwise misuses this information may be subject to criminal prosecution or civil liability under federal and/or state law.’ Did anyone claim that you were harassing the guy?

Somebody did say, ‘You know, you could be charged with harassment.’ And I said, ‘How am I harassing him? I’m not going to his house. I’m not threatening him. I’m not speaking to him. I’m not interacting with him.’ He did come here to interact with me once, and I told him the facts. ‘It’s my driveway. Do not stop here. Do not call here.’

Did he say why he came to talk to you?

At first, I had 100 flyers printed up and I put them on every telephone pole between my house and all of the schools, and he was right behind me ripping them down. He stopped and asked, ‘Why are you doing this?’ And I said, ‘Because they need to know about you. Go ahead and tear the flyers down, because the next sign is going to be even bigger.’ That’s when I put my yard sign up. I bet he’s wishing he would have left up the little flyers with his picture on them. They were so small, you could barely see it. Now his face is all over.

Do you plan on doing anything else to spread the word?

There’s really not much else I can do, because then I would be charged with harassment. I did have some professionals contact me that wanted me to get a crowd together so they could do a free presentation for kids to teach them a few things [about safety] when dealing with strangers]. [Unfortunately] I couldn’t even round up a class of 30.

Did your neighbors complain that you were bringing down their property value and things like that?

I had a lot of people say that. ‘Oh, you’re just hurting the neighborhood.’ And I’m like, ‘I’m not! He is! There’s the problem in the neighborhood—not me.’

Did you look on the NSOPR website to see how many other convicted sexual offenders were within a radius of your house? [Editor’s note: You can do this in Florida, but information is not available for every state.]

I didn’t. It’s not like I want to cause a problem for everyone. I want my son to be very aware. He’s autistic on top of being [the offender’s] target age. He’s not street smart and he’s been very protected. He’s watched very closely, but not all kids are that lucky. I was one of those kids that wasn’t that lucky. I suffered [sexual abuse] twice for that. So, if I can save one child—just one—from that, then it’s worth whatever the neighborhood wants to throw at me.

Brevard's Bestest News: Dana Delaney Loyd CONVICTED of making false allegations on her "alternative news" blog

I guess we can call her Dana BALONEY Loyd after a jury convicted her of making a false claim of receiving reports of CSA. No doubt, at least part of the false claim was likely to increase exposure for her alternative news site "Brevard's Best News," but now her news site has turned into a site defending her actions. She even made her own GoFundMe page to beg for help after getting arrested. Maybe "Safe Kids International"should reconsider their support of this convicted criminal.

Website editor found guilty of falsely reporting child abuse in Brevard County
by: Mark Boxley Updated: Apr 2, 2017 - 4:51 PM

BREVARD COUNTY, Fla. - A Brevard County website editor is facing up to five years in prison after being found guilty of falsely accusing a man of sexually abusing his elementary school-aged daughter.

According to the Brevard County Sheriff’s Office, Dana Loyd, 44, reported the abuse while claiming to be a substitute teacher at Quest Elementary School named Theresa Smith.

She called the Florida Department of Children and Families Hotline on April 29, 2015 and told authorities that the girl had confided in her about the abuse.

Staff at Quest Elementary School, though, told investigators that there had not been a substitute teacher by that name the day the caller said the girl had told her about the abuse, the sheriff’s office said.

Deputies were able to match the phone number used to call the hotline to Loyd, who was also found to be “chief editor” of the website brevardsbestnews.com.

The site, which was still active Sunday, posted two articles titled “Please Help Fight for Justice!!!” and “Blood in the Streets?”  Both named the girl’s father.

The second article also identified the girl by name, the sheriff’s office said.

“Additionally, it was learned that Loyd was allegedly contacting the father’s employment and other organizations where he was volunteering, advising he was a child molester,” the BCSO said in a Facebook post. “The investigation determined that the allegations of the reported abuse were unsubstantiated.”

Loyd admitted she had called the DCF hotline and the father’s employer and others as “harassment,” investigators said.

A jury found Loyd guilty of filing a false report of child abuse on Thursday.

She will be sentenced at a later date, the sheriff’s office said.

“I am extremely proud of everyone involved in the investigation and subsequent prosecution, as the investigation, arrest and conviction sends a very strong message to anyone who falsely reports crime in our community,” Sheriff Wayne Ivey wrote in the BCSO Facebook post.
