Q-a-nut Rory Banks sentenced to 60 years for killing a Registered Person. The prosecutor relucantly did his job

Rory Banks, seen here just realizing
Believing Q was a big mistake
I'm happy this vigilante scumbag is going away for a long time. It is essentially a life sentence, as he'll be 104 by the time he gets out. At the same time, the Yuma Co persecutor, Clint Curry, had made statements that makes me believe he only reluctantly prosecuted this case. His one comment repeated in the media is part of the reason people like Rory Banks exists.

Banks sentenced for murder: Influenced by conspiracy theories, Wheatland man gets 60 years to life

Robert Summa, Appeal-Democrat, Marysville, Calif.

Fri, November 25, 2022 at 4:43 AM·4 min read

Nov. 25—Rory Banks, the 44-year-old man who was recently convicted for the murder of 55-year-old Ralph Mendez in Wheatland, was sentenced Tuesday by Yuba County Judge Benjamin Wirtschafter to 60 years to life for his actions on the night of May 12, 2021.

Banks, who was heavily influenced by conspiracy theories such as QAnon, killed Mendez and had plans to kill others on California's sex-offender registry. Banks was convicted of the burglary and murder of Mendez by a Yuba County jury on Oct. 28.

At around 12:45 a.m. on May 12, 2021, the Wheatland Police Department received a 911 call related to a shooting that had taken place in the 200 block of G Street in Wheatland, the Appeal previously reported. Mendez was found by law enforcement officers with a gunshot wound. Lifesaving measures were performed but he was pronounced dead at the scene, according to the department.

After an investigation, Banks was determined to be the shooting suspect.

"Banks broke into Mendez's home, waking Mendez and his 88-year-old mother. Banks executed Mendez, shooting him in the torso and the head," Yuba County District Attorney Clint Curry previously said in a statement. "Banks then used Mendez's home phone to call 911. Wheatland Police officers arrived within minutes, finding Banks covered in blood in the driveway, with a pistol on the ground nearby. Banks surrendered and confessed to the murder."

Wheatland Police Chief Damiean Sylvester said at the time that the incident "was not a random act" and that it was believed that Mendez "was targeted" by Banks.

According to evidence presented during Banks' trial, it was determined that what Banks had done was not random. It was the act of a person convinced certain conspiracy theories were real.

"Rory Banks set out just after midnight on May 12, 2021, armed with two handguns, four knives, OC spray, strobe lights, a hit list with four names and addresses, and an intent to murder every person in Wheatland listed on California's sex-offender registry," Curry previously said. "Banks did not know any of them personally, but appointed himself judge, jury, and executioner."

Curry said Mendez was one of four men on Banks' kill list.

During the trial, Banks' attorney argued that Banks should be found insane or receive a lesser punishment of voluntary manslaughter because Banks believed he was defending the community from sex offenders — that belief is part of a conspiracy theory often pushed by supporters of QAnon. At the trial, the jury heard from two psychologists who examined Banks.

CLINT CURRY, persecutor
"We are thankful the jury upheld the rule of law in this case," Curry previously said. "While no one likes sex offenders, you can't lower yourself to their level, murder someone in cold blood, and think you're going to get a pass."

Banks' association with QAnon and theories surrounding it were brought up during the trial. It was even revealed that Banks had a QAnon sticker on the back of his vehicle.

According to the Anti-Defamation League, "QAnon is a decentralized, far-right political movement rooted in a baseless conspiracy theory that the world is controlled by the 'Deep State,' a cabal of Satan-worshipping pedophiles. ... While not all QAnon adherents are extremists, QAnon-linked beliefs have inspired violent acts and have eroded trust in democratic institutions and the electoral process. Many QAnon influencers also spout antisemitic beliefs and the core tenets of 'Pizzagate' and 'Save the Children,' both of which are QAnon-adjacent beliefs, play into antisemitic conspiracy theories like Blood Libel."

Curry previously said that Banks mentioned that he spent a lot of time on Telegram, an online messaging platform that is used by several QAnon influencers. He said Banks said he was always on his phone, "doing research." That "research" was what led Banks to believe some of the wild claims found online.

The jury ultimately found that Banks was legally sane at the time of the murder and also found that Banks personally discharged a firearm and used information from the sex offender registry to kill Mendez, the Appeal previously reported.

"A big thank you to Chief Deputy District Attorney Shiloh Sorbello for trying the case, and Yuba County Sheriff's Deputy (then Wheatland Police Officer) Justin Prince for an excellent investigation," Curry said in a statement Tuesday night. "Some people in the community have suggested that Banks was a hero for murdering Ralph Mendez because Mendez was a registered sex offender. While I understand the sentiment, they are absolutely wrong. Our founders fought to ensure that the United States of America would be a 'government of laws and not of men.' Mendez did his crime and received his punishment under the rule of law. Vigilantism has no place in our great nation, and Banks is no hero, he's a murderer."

Not responding to trolls is not cowardice

There was a time I rather enjoyed agitating the trolls, but in recent years, I have discovered it is far more fun to block trolls. Trolls are simple-minded creatures. They post negative remarks in hopes it upsets you. They imagine you see their post, pound your fist on your desk or cry or throw things, and they get off on these thoughts. They NEED you to validate their pathetic existence. Thus, ignoring them drives them mad because they receive no satisfaction whatsoever from the effort they put into the trolling. For a while they get more desperate. This troll is trying to appeal to my ego now by making explicit threats then claiming I'm a "coward" for not giving him a platform to make his threats.

But there is nothing cowardly about blocking an online nuisance. In fact, it is satisfying knowing that person wasted a lot of time to make multiple accounts that were deleted with a couple of clicks.

It takes far more time for someone to create a new profile than it takes to block someone, so they wasted far more time setting up the barrage of nasty comments than it does to remove the offensive comments. Blocking someone on social media generally removes all their comments from your personal pages.

I've already written extensively about trolls and how to deal with them at oncefallen.com:

https://oncefallen.com/protect-yourself-from-vigilantes/

In recent years I've had one or possible a pair of trolls completely obsessed with me. I've even discussed them (at least in passing) on this blog. BUT, I don't engage them. When they pop up on my social media posts, I block them. See the screenshots below as an example.

This threat was very explicit. This isn't the first threat I ever received from this clown but this one is perhaps the most brazen.

It should be noted that Facebook recently (around Oct. 1, 2022) changed the method of reporting/blocking trolls so it took a little while to figure it out, especially since they don't do a good job of explaining how to do it. But there is still a method to quickly block a troll who posts a nasty comment on your profile:

  1. Scroll over the name of the person you wish to block. A bubble will appear expanding that person's profile and you should see a big button that says "See Options."
  2. Click the "See Options" button and a new bubble appears with two options, "Find Support or Report" and "Block."
  3. If you click "Block", Facebook will give you the option to simply block that account, or block that account AND block any other potential accounts that person might make. (Makes sense to choose the latter.)
If using Facebook Messenger:
  1. You have to click on "View Profile," and once you're on the troll's profile page, on the options banner just below the name of the profile, at the far right you'll see a bubble with three dots aligned horiziontally, and when you click it, a new bubble appears with two options, "Find Support or Report" and "Block."
  2. If you click "Block", Facebook will give you the option to simply block that account, or block that account AND block any other potential accounts that person might make. (Makes sense to choose the latter.)
That should block all offending personal Facebook accounts as well as many Facebook business pages.

This is an explicit threat so this will be forwarded to law enforcement.

Maybe soon I can share the audio from the many voicemails this loser sent but Youtube would likely flag it because troll used film clips and a couple of them were racist towards Asian-Americans.

ADDENDUM: The trolls have been crying all weekend they keep getting blocked. It also seems they're having a little internal strife. I'm enjoying watching them fight amongst each other LOL.

"Midwest Predator Catchers" leader Chase Johnston has an extensive criminal history and is now accused of sexual assault

This Vanilla Ice looking clown is Chase Johnston, yet another common criminal who is trying to gain notoriety as a vigilante. According to this report, Johnston already has served time for drugs and theft, was civilly committed, as well as currently facing charges for assaulting his girlfriend and threatening to kill her family members, and now add a second assault with sexual undertones to the mix.

YouTube vigilante on mission to expose sexual predators faces his own sex assault charges - Post Bulletin | Rochester Minnesota news, weather, sports

ROCHESTER — Chase Johnston began his crusade to hunt down alleged child predators earlier this year.

The Rochester man, 28, taking a cue from the now-defunct NBC show "To Catch a Predator," confronts men who he believes are potential child predators, luring them to a location and filming their responses after being confronted. Each of Johnston's videos have garnered thousands of views as he and his vigilante group confront individuals.

His group, Midwest Predator Catchers - Rochester, aggressively goes after people they believe are trying to lure children in for sex. They pose as children in online forums.

"I got online one day and I think within an hour I had a guy respond and offer me $400 for sex, and when I told him I was 14, he had no cares at all," Johnston told the Post Bulletin. "He just wanted to take advantage of this 14-year-old girl."

Comment after comment on his YouTube videos show signs of encouragement.

"VERY educational and entertaining catch. You guys did well," reads one comment.

"You guys are awesome keep up the great job exposing these creeps," reads another.

But Johnston's and his friend's tactics during these videos differ dramatically from the calm and collected way "To Catch A Predator" host Chris Hansen approached his marks.

Johnston's videos often include threats of violence against the people he's filmed.

"We don't assault them," Johnston said. "We do want to scare them a little bit sometimes, but we don't want to physically hurt them."

Johnston said at least one of the people who comes along for the stings has a license to carry a firearm.

Complaints from targets

In an ironic twist of events, Johnston was charged with sexually assaulting one of the men during a May 2022 confrontation in a Rochester gas station.

The YouTube video on Johnston's channel shows Johnston and his friends berating and threatening a man they accuse of trying to lure a 15-year-old boy for sex. The criminal complaint in that case alleges that Johnston struck the man in the genitals and face.

"I'll never plead to those charges," Johnston said. "I'll take this all the way to trial."

The judge ordered Johnston not to have any contact with minors, according to Johnston.

"I said, 'Well, that's not going to be problem for me, judge. The only person that has a hard time staying away from minors is the alleged victim," Johnston told the Post Bulletin.

The man told law enforcement that he had been chatting electronically with someone he thought to be a 15-year-old male. He told the juvenile he did not want to do anything sexual with him and that they were talking about the juvenile having issues coming out as gay to his family.

In the complaint, a Rochester police officer confirmed that account fairly reflects the content of the exchange of messages.

Johnston, however, insists that the man had sexually explicit conversations with the decoy juvenile. That man, however, has not been charged in connection to any activities related to the video taken by Johnston and his team.

Law enforcement concerns

The Rochester Police Department and Olmsted County Attorney's Office issued a joint statement regarding Johnston's efforts.

"RPD investigators have talked with Mr. Johnston several times and informed him that the best way to file complaints is through the National Center for Missing and Exploited Children. NCMEC properly handles evidence and works closely with law enforcement," the statement reads in part.

In 2021, RPD received 21 tips from NCMEC and worked on 22 cases with Internet Crimes Against Children, a national network of task forces dedicated to investigating, prosecuting and developing effective responses to internet crimes against children.

"Mr. Johnston’s aggressive nature is also very problematic. For the safety of all parties, RPD strongly discourages confrontational practices like the ones used in the videos," reads a statement from RPD.

Johnston said that law enforcement hasn't done a good job at following up on his accusations against multiple people. He accuses some law enforcement of just not wanting to pursue charges.

"I have a lot of respect for cops and stuff, but their response has not been very good and hasn't been very professional," Johnston said. "They haven't really gone through these videos, and they tell me to just report it the center for exploited children, blah, blah, blah, but it's like, if you guys aren't doing anything about it now when I'm getting these guys to admit to this on tape and to you, what makes me think that anything's going to be done if I simply report it?"

From video to arrest

One of Johnston's sting operations has led to charges. Thirty-year-old Joseph Lee Carlson is charged in Dodge County with a felony for allegedly soliciting someone he believed to be a child. Carlson was the subject of a sting in September 2022 in Dodge Center.

"I'm glad that somebody is finally being held accountable for their actions," Johnston said. "I'm thrilled to find out that my work helped bust this guy."

In the criminal complaint against Carlson, one of the witnesses is alleged to have spit on Carlson.

"Dude, we can turn the (expletive) camera off right now and I'll show you what assault is (expletive)," a man can be heard saying to Carlson in the video.

Johnston also faces a misdemeanor assault charge related to the incident.

However, Carlson faces more severe charges for his part in the incident.

"Text messages submitted to Investigators show the group discussing a number of times that they are a 14-year-old male. Carlson solicits the child for sex explaining that having sex with a 14-year-old is a big fantasy of his that he never gets to complete," Dodge County Sheriff Scott Rose wrote in a news release about the incident.

"Carlson stated that he would meet at North Park, positively identify the party and if he was truly a juvenile, then he would turn him away as he did not want to get into any trouble," reads part of the complaint against Carlson.

In the criminal complaint, it is noted that Carlson has a previous conviction as a juvenile for felony second-degree criminal sexual conduct while being armed with a dangerous weapon. Carlson is also facing charges related to possessing child sexual abuse material, as part of an investigation by the Department of Homeland Security.

The Dodge County Sheriff’s Office wants to remind the public that the actions of groups like the Midwest Predator Catchers, regardless of any good intentions, can be dangerous and problematic. Their aggressive behavior towards their alleged suspects and willingness to confront these subjects without involving law enforcement could easily result in someone getting injured or worse. Also some of their tactics can and have resulted in the inability to charge these alleged offenders. If you believe someone is soliciting juveniles, please contact your local law enforcement and let them conduct the investigation.

Investigators allege that they found in Carlson's possession hundreds of images of at least 47 different juveniles in various states of undress and performing sexual acts. Carlson is also charged with trying to solicit two more juveniles. The images depict at least one juvenile that was an infant, according to the complaint.

During a hearing in Dodge County District Court on Friday, Oct. 21, 2022, Carlson's bail was set at $250,000. He is currently in custody at the Olmsted County Adult Detention Center.

The Dodge County Attorney's Office declined to comment about the case and charges.

Problematic investigations

The Rochester Police Records Department is processing a request by the Post Bulletin for all incident reports related to contacts with Johnston in the last six months.

"It is incredibly important for prosecutors that investigations are done by trained forensic investigators," Olmsted County Attorney Mark Ostrem wrote in a statement to the Post Bulletin. "NCMEC and ICAC provide the integrity necessary for successful investigation and prosecutions. Lay persons should report their concerns to the appropriate authorities and allow them to investigate."

Johnston said police departments have told him they don't have the manpower to do these types of stings. That frustrates him as a father of a newborn daughter, he says.

"Somehow I've got the manpower to do that, which makes no sense to me," Johnston said. "So I can't morally stop doing this if there's nobody else doing it."

The legality and ethics behind Johnston's aggressive tactics remains in question.

"It could look like they are purposely raising the heat of the encounter so it looks like a good film," said Dr. David Schultz, law professor at the University of Minnesota and Hamline University, after viewing one of Johnston's YouTube videos. "I thought, 'This has got a Jerry Springer look to it.'"

Schultz viewed a video in which Johnston and his crew accuse a man of trying to meet up with an underage juvenile for sex. In it, people threaten the man and push down his motorcycle.

Schultz said charges against Johnston for his aggressive behavior may be warranted, and that a defense attorney has grounds to get any charges against the men Johnston targets dismissed.

While talking to a juvenile about sex might be considered immoral or wrong, it's not really a crime until further action to initiate actual sexual contact is taken, according to Schultz.

"It looks like they're setting somebody up to harass (and) embarrass the person, to try and expose them and say, 'Here's a potential child molester or a person who is potentially committing sex crimes,' when, in fact, there's no evidence that the person has done anything wrong," Schultz said.

Mistakes on tape

In one video, Johnston and his crew bang on a man's door in the middle of night. They accuse him of trying to have sex with a juvenile. Johnston's crew later learns that they were at the wrong house.

In another video, Johnston's crew accuses a man of trying to seduce a juvenile into a threesome with him and his wife. The man's wife denies any knowledge of the incident. Johnston's crew reassures the woman that her face and her child's face will be blurred. The video is currently uploaded to YouTube with the faces of both the woman and her child clearly visible.

"There's a little bit of a rush that goes along with it," Johnston said. "Trying to figure out what exactly might happen; is this person gonna flip out on me or is he going to pull out a gun or a knife or something like that, and I think about my daughter and her future."

Some people in Johnston's videos mention struggles with mental illness or disabilities, but Johnston said he doesn't let that get in the way.

"Certain people have a sob story, and it kind of gets me in my feelings a little bit and I'll start to feel for that person for a second, but then I remember exactly what they're doing and what they might have done to a child," Johnston said.

One of the subjects of his stings filed a harassment restraining order against Johnston. It was initially denied by a judge, but was subsequently granted following a hearing. The restraining order mentions Johnston uploading videos to social media accusing him of being a pedophile.

Chase Johnston Facebook post

A screenshot of a Facebook post that links to a video of a man who was granted a harassment restraining order against Chase Johnston. The Post Bulletin has edited out the man's name because it is the newspaper's policy not to identify people who have filed restraining orders without their consent.

The man who filed the restraining order did not respond to a request for comment from the Post Bulletin.

Johnston admits that his earlier videos were aggressive and that his crew let their emotions get the best of them, but says they have since become more professional.

"We might make fun of them and clown on them, yell at them a little bit, but we are passionate about what we do and we are trying to serve a community in a way," Johnston said.

His YouTube channel was initially named Prisoners vs. Predators — a reference to Johnston's own personal history that includes drug and theft crimes, and a pending guilty plea for assault — but Johnston said he's a changed man and just wants to do something good in this world.

"We served our time and now we're trying to be productive members of society," Johnston said.

A troubled past

Johnston has a long history of drug and theft charges, and he was civilly committed last year for six months due to his drug addiction.

"I've struggled with heroin addiction on and off since I was about 19 years old," Johnston said. "I'm actively working on staying sober and being a better person."

Johnston is currently facing charges in Olmsted County related to a June 2022 incident in which he allegedly assaulted the mother of his child and threatened to kill her family members.

He has submitted a plea agreement in the case in which he will plead guilty to one misdemeanor count of domestic assault in exchange for other, more serious charges being dismissed. The plea deal calls for him serve probation.

"We got into an argument. The argument became heated and I was upset. I pushed her and caused her head to hit the wall," reads a part of the deal submitted by Johnston.

Johnston told the Post Bulletin that he's being held accountable for his actions, and that he wishes police would do the same for others.

"Me and my girlfriend are very much in love, and we are sticking together through all of this and we're going to come through on the other side stronger than we were before," he said.

"Shoalanda Speaks" blogger Anthony Durham can't stay out of trouble

I just love it knowing that the TROLLanda group of wannabe Shoals-area crime bloggers had to out one of their own. Trouble in paradise, perhaps? Maybe "Jasper Black" can give us a few other names besides the ones we already know? Is this finally the start of the end for Bettye and her shitty blog? If so good riddance!

More Arrests for Our Former Blogger Anthony Durham

Anthony Shane Durham was arrested on September 15th on charges of Possession of Drug Paraphernalia, Possession of Methamphetamine, and Failure to Appear. Court records show that Durham, who claims to have paid all previous fines, etc., still owes the City of Florence $2,166.00.

Durham, who used the pen name Jasper Black when he blogged for Shoalanda Speaks, is scheduled to appear on these charges November 8th. Besides two traffic cases, he still faces jail time on being a felon in possession of a gun and bail jumping.

After we last reported on the 36 year-old homeless man, he contacted us to threaten a lawsuit and to again blame us for not "using our influence" to have charges dropped after assaulting his then wife and threatening his wife's co-worker. It would seem that Durham has a pattern of threatening and assaulting women.

We have checked, and the woman he threatened or possibly attacked at a local apartment complex last winter has passed away, meaning there is no way to press charges on this incident. We do know that Anthony is the subject of a serious investigation that we hope is concluded swiftly.

We all need to continue our efforts to feed, clothe, and provide shelter for the less fortunate. Let's just remember to keep safe while doing it. We sincerely believe in assisting the homeless when possible, but it isn't always a given that these individuals are mentally competent and no threat to others.

Do we regret attempting to help Anthony? No. We just wish there had been a better outcome.

"Predator Poachers" scumbag Alex Rosen (aka Chet Goldstein) lost his Youtube channel LOL

Same shit, same asshole, different name.

Alex Rosen, aka "Chet Goldstein" the dumbfuck who threatened to "send hookers" to my house (something I wish he did), is still pretending to be a teenage girl online. I can understand why because his mental capacity is stuck at that age, probably from his days getting hit in the head playing high school football. Whether it is onset CTE or just low IQ, Rosen can't get away from his controversial hobby and get a REAL job.

YouTube banned Rosen for alleged racism and other bullying tactics I previously mentioned on this blog:

"...a lot of controversies came out about Alex. Alex was called out for one of his older prank videos, where he called Black Lives Matter hotlines, and repeatedly said racial slurs against African-Americans. He was also on video, saying racial slurs again, homophobia, being creepy to a decoy asking to do inappropriate things for him claiming it was a predator, and talked about having a three year old female child in his basement. He also made racist jokes about African-Americans, such as a joke on video about them "not being able to swim." Chet's behavior was called out by SomeOrdinaryGamers, and penguinz0, for his older videos. Since then, both EDP445 and Alex have been terminated off of YouTube."

https://www.insider.com/edp445-allegations-messages-chet-goldstein-youtube-removed-what-did-2021-4

A predator hunting YouTuber and a man seemingly caught in a sting both had their channels removed by the platform

Steven Asarch

All of the channels associated with EDP445 and Chet Goldstein have been removed from YouTube.

The Chet channel posted a video alleging that EDP445 had sexual conversations with a minor.

Alex Rosen, who ran Chet Goldstein, has a history of controversial content.

YouTube has taken down the channels belonging to Bryan Moreland, known online as EDP445, and Alex Rosen, who ran the Chet Goldstein channel.

The actions, which occurred at the same time, came after Rosen claimed in a video that Moreland had sent sexual messages and images to a decoy posing as a 13-year-old girl.

On Monday, the Chet Goldstein channel posted an hour-long "sting" video where Rosen and fellow predator hunter Ghost, who runs the channel CC Unit, approached Moreland in Bakersfield, California. Rosen's video at least made it seem like Moreland thought he was going to meet up with a 13-year-old girl. That video went viral, pulling in over two million views.

Moreland, who had built up an audience making videos and ranting about the Philadelphia Eagles, has disappeared from social media since the videos went viral.

The Bakersfield Sheriff's Department told a local ABC affiliate news station on April 22 that the "video's content is under investigation but as of now no arrests have been made." The department did not return a request for comment by publication time.

Rosen posted an Instagram video about the channel ban, pointing his followers to his side-channel Stanley Yelnatz. Rosen told Insider that he received an email from YouTube, but did not receive a strike, YouTube's term for a warning. Rosen says his stings and content moving forward will be posted to the Predator Poachers website.

"We can't post anything on YouTube anymore pretty much, that platform just doesn't like us," Rosen says in the Instagram video.

YouTube did not respond to Insider's request for comment.

It's not entirely clear what the basis of the bans was

It's still not clear why each creator was banned.

Moreland, the purported subject of the sting, has been accused of messaging multiple minors in the past, and YouTube has taken action against creators who have faced major scandals in the past few months.

Rosen has a history of posting unsavory content along with his stings.

He created the Predator Poachers YouTube channel in 2019 after watching similar YouTubers and experimenting with setting up his own stings. In 2020, it was taken down due to multiple community guideline strikes, though what those strikes were for remains unclear. On that channel, he would often target gay men who were seeking contact with male minors. In one video from the deleted channel, a minor in a sting starts to unbuckle and take off his pants around a suspect before Rosen walks in. The decoy is the cousin of Rosen, who was 16 at the time of recording.

"I agree it was very irresponsible," Rosen told Insider. "We were 19 and just starting out and we didn't think anything of having a cousin of ours who's a couple of years younger there."

In another video, a purported minor who was used as bait for a sting said the male target was "touching and kissing me and trying to hold my hand." Rosen said in later clips that he uses minors as bait for his videos.

Aside from using minors in the videos, Rosen created several ethically dubious situations. In one video, where he confronts a Nebraska man who Rosen said sent sexual messages to a decoy posing as an 8-year-old, Rosen says that if the man doesn't put on an "I Lick A--" T-shirt he will call the police. That man was charged  with one count of Attempted First Degree Sexual Assault of a Child and ten counts of Possession of Child Pornography according to News Channel Nebraska.

"We absolutely toy with them, we make sure we get their confession on camera, that is the most important part," Rosen told Insider before the ban.

Additionally, Rosen posted multiple videos and livestreams where he uses the N-word. In an interview done before the ban of his channel, Rosen said that "it obviously looks bad" and that he has "no hatred in my heart towards any group of people." In one video, Rosen prank called a BLM hotline, used multiple homophobic and racist slurs, and joked about pedophelia.

Founding member of Dads Against Predators member, Terrance Hill, busted on camera beating his girlfriend

This is Terrance Hill, one of the fouding members of Fremont Ohio's worst, "Dads Against Predators." It makes me wonder if the other DAP dipshits do the same thing. And to think, this is the type of person people find "heroic."

Dads Against Predators, huh? But domestic abuse is apparently okay.

Career criminal Ricky Allen Kiper Jr. murders registrant in cold blood simply because of registry status

Victim advocates want to kill a person without a trial, so what should we do with this waste of humanity?

https://www.wjhg.com/2022/07/29/man-shows-no-remorse-fatally-shooting-registered-sex-offender-deputies-say/

Man shows no remorse for fatally shooting registered sex offender, deputies say

By Mitchell Carter , Jill Lyman and Emily Van de Riet

Published: Jul. 29, 2022 at 4:38 PM CDT|Updated: 4 hours ago

VANDERBURGH CO., Ind. (WFIE/Gray News) – A man in Indiana told deputies he has no remorse for fatally shooting a registered sex offender, authorities said.

According to the Vanderburgh County Sheriff’s Office, 34-year-old Ricky Allen Kiper Jr. shot and killed 41-year-old James C. McClernon on Wednesday.

Investigators said Kiper knocked on the front door of a home, asked for McClernon, then shot him.

Kiper was caught about a mile from the scene, and an affidavit shows he admitted to shooting McClernon twice.

Officials said Kiper told them he killed McClernon because he was a sex offender. Investigators said Kiper was not remorseful, and he told them his actions were justified.

McClernon’s family told WFIE that while McClernon was on the sex offender registry, it was for a situation that occurred more than two decades ago in Canada. The family said McClernon got into an altercation with an adult woman, served his time, and was not placed on the sex offender registry in Canada.

McClernon’s family said they did not understand why he was placed on the sex offender registry when he moved to the United States and were actively in the process of trying to get McClernon taken off the registry when he was killed.

A lieutenant with the Vanderburgh County Sheriff’s Office said there is a chance the prosecutor will seek enhanced charges against Kiper based on his criminal record, as well as because of the use of a firearm in the crime.

Kiper is being held at the Vanderburgh County Jail without bond.

Dads Against Predators member gets shot during entrapment bust. Too bad he did not get killed

They were warned, even threatened with prosecution, to step down. Sooner or later this was going to happen. One of these vigilante groups confronted a guy they set up and were shot for their troubles. They are fortunate their target was a lousy shot. They should be charged with assault, harassment, and disturbing the peace, to say the least. They created a scene that could have gotten people killed. Quitr frankly, I hope next time, they fuck with someone who lights them up with an AR-15 and does the world a favor.

WINSTON-SALEM, N.C. — Winston-Salem police said an incident involving a group called Dads Against Predators - or D.A.P. - forced an evacuation at the Target on Hanes Mall Boulevard last Tuesday.

Detectives said three men with D.A.P., as they're known on social media, "lured" a 25-year-old man to Target through the social media app Meet Up.

Once the man was in the store, police said the dad group confronted him, wanting to know why he was there.

Police said one of the D.A.P. members was recording the interaction on his cell phone. Police said a fight broke out and the man who was "lured" there took out a handgun and fired a round which struck a D.A.P. member in the leg.

Investigators said the dad group took the man's gun from him and left the Target in a car with Ohio tags.

The man who'd been beaten by the group went to a Forsyth County hospital for his injuries.

Police didn't find the gun until the next morning. It was three miles from the Target store, on Sunderland Road.

Winston-Salem police were later alerted by Ohio law enforcement that one of the D.A.P. men showed up at a hospital in Ohio for injuries. Police said he was treated and released for minor injuries that same day.

Winston-Salem Police Chief Catrina Thompson discussed the dangers of these "vigilante groups" and how they can hurt an investigation more than help.

"Not only do they not have the training and experience of a law enforcement officer, typically their methods of investigation and evidence do not meet the requirement for successful prosecution of these cases. In fact, sometimes their actions in initial investigations may harm a case more than it helps it," Chief Thompson said in a briefing last week - a day after the Target incident.

Thompson said citizens who try to take the law into their own hands aren't just putting themselves in danger, but the public as well.

"We are also extremely concerned for the safety of the members of the citizens' groups and the community in general because the tendency of these groups is to lure a potential suspect to a public place to confront them. These confrontations are likely to create disturbances and certainly have the potential for violence," she said.

Chief Thompson also explained how vigilante groups like D.A.P. operate.

"The groups create posts on various social media apps impersonating a juvenile and engages potential suspects in conversation. If the conversation becomes sexually explicit, the members then arrange to meet the suspect," she said.

Winston-Salem police said they are not actively looking for the three D.A.P. men involved in the incident. Police said their Gun Crime Reduction Unit is currently investigating what happened.

Last week, WFMY News 2's Jenna Kurzyna spoke with the man who'd been beaten inside the store. He did not want to go on camera, but his injuries were visible. The man had cuts on his face, swelling, and a black eye. He said he did not know the suspects.

Target released the following statement last week:

"On Tuesday evening, there was an altercation between three people inside our Hanes Mall store, during which a weapon was fired, though no one was struck. Our team immediately evacuated the store and the Winston-Salem Police Department quickly responded. The store has since reopened and we're assisting law enforcement with their investigation. At this time, we'll refer additional questions to police."

Investigators learn more about ‘Dads Against Predators’ members accused in incident at North Carolina Target

by: Madison Forsey

Posted: Jul 5, 2022 / 08:15 AM EDT

WINSTON-SALEM, N.C. (WGHP) — More details have emerged about a group that Winston-Salem police say is responsible for chaos last week at the Target store on Hanes Mall Boulevard.

Police said two men from Fremont, Ohio, and one man from Marion, North Carolina — all connected to an Ohio-based group known as “Dads Against Predators” — were at the center of the incident.

According to Winston-Salem police, Jay Carnicom, 28, Joshua Mundy, 29, and Jason Chipps went inside the store to confront a 25-year-old man they had lured there by making him think he was meeting someone underage.

The group started filming the man, who then slapped a phone out of one of the “D.A.P” member’s hands, police said. That led to a fight, and the man fired his gun, hitting Carnicom in the leg. The group then took the man’s gun and ran.

According to the assistant chief of the Fremont Police Department, Carnicom went to a local area hospital to seek treatment for the gunshot wound.

The assistant chief said he wasn’t surprised when he got word the group was involved in the situation, adding that he has dealt with them for years. He said they have been banned from various grocery stores in Ohio because their meet-ups often turn into physical violence.

The assistant chief acknowledged that the group has brought awareness to a problem but said his department can’t condone its tactics.

FOX8 reached out to Mundy to get his side of the story. In a message, he could not go into details but that his group has been cooperating with the investigation and maintains they did not do anything wrong.

In a post on Mundy’s Instagram, he said he is “heavily considering retiring and removing myself from the field.”

Fremont police said Mundy and Carnicom do not have any past charges related to D.A.P activities.

Winston-Salem police have not filed any charges against the people involved and say this is still an active and open investigation.

How do you report "no news"? Internet trolls try in vain to silence Anti-Registry Activism

When I was a young kid, I used to watch this show that had a character called Gary Gnu. From a Wikia site: Gary Gnu (performed by Jim Martin) is a green, gnu-like newscaster who hosts "The Gary Gnu Show" each episode and is known for his catchphrase "No gnews is good gnews with Gary...Gnu." He would add a guttural "g" sound at the beginning of any word he spoke which normally began with an "n", such as "gnews" for "news" and "gnaturally" for "naturally".

No g-news is good-gnews, indeed.

Over the years, various vigilante groups have tried in vain to silence us. I have entire websites and a few people who are obsessed with obsessing over my every word (and of course, distorting it). Every so often, they get some nominal "victory" like getting a burner account deleted. But, they have accomplished nothing of value.

These folks claim they're "doing the Lord's work" or some crap like that. But if they were succeeding I wouldn't be posting this right now, would I?

They've tried getting me, other anti-registry groups, and not-so-anti-registry groups like NARSOL "404'd" yet no one is gone. Hm. In fact, they aren't even a blip on the radar. Hey "VoidSec," no one knows your name because nobody cares! You aren't doing ANYTHING of value. No groups and no individuals are gone. Hell, I don't even like NARSOL because they're a bunch of chickenshits, but all you worthless Anonymous groups do NOT scare anyone. I mean, all you do is talk amongst yourselves and shout insults when you think no one is reading so you can show some false bravado. That's it. That's literally all you do.

Big whoop you called me bad names and you got a burner account deleted. And you think you're accomplishing something, anything at all? LOL. It took less than 3 minutes to make new burner accounts. What's that, VoidSec? Punks!

No gnus is good gnus, indeed.

The cowards at 'VoidSec" think they're actually accomplishing something. The end result was a single low rating review. LOL.

The thing is, ratings mean nothing as my book was created for a niche group. But, the so-called "VoidSec" doesn't even have a dozen followers. That's your best shot? How pathetic! ROFLMAO!

The Bahamas established an America-style public sex offense registry. The first person they placed on it was murdered by vigilantes days later

Anti-Registry groups have tried warning foreign countries not to act like America, and for good reason.

The comments posted in one article sounds like any pro-vigilante news report in the US, but the Bahamas is a soverign nation.

*************

Source: "Bahamas may change legislation after sex offender dies days after being released from prison." Jamaica Observer. 1 June 2022. https://www.jamaicaobserver.com/latest-news/bahamas-may-change-legislation-after-sex-offender-dies-days-after-being-released-from-prison/

"NASSAU, Bahamas, Jun 1, CMC – The Bahamas government says it is likely to re-examine the measures under which sex offenders are publicly released from prison after one man died in hospital a few days after his release.

The authorities said that Alden Scott was found unresponsive on a dirt road while bleeding through the nose, but it is not known if he was attacked or the origin of his injuries.

Scott was released last Friday after being added to the sex offender registry. He served nine years in prison for sexual assault and was sentenced to two years in prison for caressing a girl’s thigh in January.

National Security Minister Wayne Munroe told reporters that an investigation has been launched into Scott’s death and warned that the public should refrain from issuing vigilante justice.

He hinted at the possibility of the authorities discontinuing public notification if it is found that Scott had been physically assaulted upon his release.

“If we find that it happened in circumstances that it was abundantly clear that you have vigilantes who will hunt and kill persons of which there is public notification…we will have to see what other steps can be taken,” Munroe said.

He said that the government may have to change the approach to public notification if the findings of the investigation show a particular outcome.

“For my preference, for people who are considered dangerous is to know where they are 24 hours a day, seven days a week, 52 weeks a year and for them to know that we know where they are.”

“And so, we will have to be looking now that this has happened into other steps we may take to protect the public and we are looking seriously at the laws they have in Canada about monitoring after release from sentences,” he added.--

Why it matters

Alden was the first person to be added to the sex offenders’ registry in a public notice. Minister of National Security Wayne Munroe warned that the public should refrain from issuing vigilante justice and cautioned that public notification will be discontinued if anyone physically assaults Alden on his release.

How the public reacts

Some social media users expressed no empathy for Alden.

Devon Rox says, “Knowing what sexual assault does to a person mentally and physically until the day they die, I have no compassion for the rapist.”

Stacey Smith says, “God doesn’t sleep.”

Negrita Valdez says she anticipated that the sex offender would be killed after release. “I knew it wasn’t going to be too long for him to enjoy his freedom…”

Monique Knowles calls for law reforms. “I don’t know why laws are not stricter. He should not have been allowed out in public after the second offense.”

"Shoot Your Local Pedophile" merchandise is connected to far-right extremist group "Proud Boys"

This blog has already covered both merchandise containing the slogan "shoot/kill/hang your local pedophile/sex offender" and the far right extremist group, the Proud Boys. However, I've never really made the connection until now that the "shoot your local pedophile" and related slogans were mostly used by the Proud Boys until recently. It seems like the phrase was intended to be, in part, a show of support for the Kyle Rittenhouse, who murdered two protesters in Kenosha WI. One of Rittenhouse's victims was a Person Forced to Register, which was used as a defense for committing murder.

As seen on the now-removed Proud Boys website, the Proud Boys were selling "Kill Your Local Pedophile" t-shirts:

Similar merchandise also appeared on the 1776 store, another Proud Boys front:

Some news reports have also documented the use of this slogan during protests in which Proud Boys members participated:

https://www.vice.com/en/article/xgdxx3/protesters-kenosha-jury-rittenhouse

Tensions are rising outside the Kenosha County Courthouse in Wisconsin where jurors are deliberating the fate of Kyle Rittenhouse, the 18-year-old facing intentional homicide charges for shooting three people and killing two during a protest in August 2020. Gaggles of his right-wing supporters, including at least one waving a giant “Let’s Go Brandon” flag, which is a conservative meme making fun of President Joe Biden, were already congregating outside the courthouse Tuesday, the first day of deliberations. Several burly men, including one with a hat saying “Shoot Your Local Pedophile,” lined up on the steps.

Meanwhile, activists, including some who were wearing T-shirts saying “Fuck Kyle,” called for Rittenhouse’s conviction. Both groups came with megaphones and got into shouting matches. Earlier in the day, photographer Alex Kent captured a man in a pickup truck doing a Nazi salute in the direction of Black Lives Matter protesters outside the courthouse.

https://www.cerescourier.com/news/local/anti-vaccine-mandate-crowd-protests-park/

Opposition to vaccine mandates and the expansion of powers by the state and federal government were a common theme expressed at a small and peaceful rally held Saturday at the Ceres River Bluff Regional Park. Gathering at noon were representatives of conservative and patriotic groups who advocated pushing back against controversial policies that have governments mandating COVID vaccines as a condition of employment and attendance at public schools....

Debra Hunt offered assistance to any parent wishing to pull their children out of public schools because of the state COVID vaccine mandates to home school them... Hunt, who described herself as a conservative who disagrees with vaccine mandates, said she was a bit shocked to see members of the Echo Company of the California State Militia and the controversial Proud Boys. At least one member of the Proud Boys donned a ball cap that read “Shoot your local pedophile” and a shirt with an emblem featuring brass knuckles and a military style rifle and the words: “Proud Boys American as F---.” “I’m not against the Proud Boys. I respect their freedom loving but the Militia is the one that was like, wait, what? Why am I in a place with the Militia?” laughed Hunt. She noted that militia members were nice and respectful and supportive.

Proud Boys, QAnon supporters, and many Anonymous sects all use similar symbolism, along with other similar slogans including QAnon's "#SaveTheChildren" campaigns. But at the heart of all thse groups are terrorism and extremism, and all these dangerous groups should not be allowed to spread their filthy propaganda.

"#TangoDown" -- Melanie Larkin's TikTok account suspended LOL

She claims it is temporary, but she knew it was coming so she made a backup account. But Melanie Larkin, the worthless TikTok bimbo who made a misleading video TikTok video to compel others to harass Registered Citizen activists, was taken down from TikTik. Better late than never, TikTok.

I don't forgive or forget either. You should have expected me.

#TangoDown. Maybe Scott Sonnier aka "Nikolai Romanovski" will be the next "tango down" LOL

Keep seething bitches, as you run all over Facebook in vain to silence less than 1% of my message :)

Florida Thug gets only two years' house arrest for punching elderly Registrant to death

It is a sad story all around but Pujols dodged a major bullet. If Pujols had murdered a non-Registrant, he would have served a REAL prison sentence. You don't punch frail old men in the face no matter what they call you. And now you have a reord that will follow you the rest of your life and will always be seen as a violent thug.

All that street macho crap got you house arrest and 3 years probation, but now you'll have a harder time getting a job for life. I hope it was worth it, you piece of crap.

Although the attack was not seemingly the result of registry status, I'm almost certain the fact the victim was a Registered Person led to the extremely light sentence.

Florida Dunkin’ employee sentenced for delivering deadly punch to customer who used racist slur

TAMPA, Fla. (AP) — A Florida Dunkin’ employee was sentenced to two years of house arrest after delivering a deadly punch to a customer who used a racist slur against him.

A Tampa judge ordered Corey Pujols, 27, to complete 200 hours of community service and attend an anger management course after Pujols pleaded guilty to felony battery.

Last May, 77-year-old Vonelle Cook, a registered sex offender, was irate when he went into the Dunkin’ and started yelling about the quality of customer service, police and prosecutors said.

Pujols, who’s Black, asked Cook to leave, which is when Cook called Pujols a racist slur. Pujols punched Cook, who fell to the floor and hit his head. Cook died three days later.

Initally, Pujols was charged with manslaughter, reported AP.

In agreeing to a plea deal, prosecutors considered the “totality of the circumstances,” including Pujols’ age, his lack of criminal history and the fact that he did not intend to cause Cook’s death, Grayson Kamm, a spokesman for Hillsborough State Attorney Andrew Warren, told the Tampa Bay Times.

He said they also considered the behavior of Cook and what he said.

“Two of the primary factors were the aggressive approach the victim took toward the defendant and everyone working with the defendant, and that the victim repeatedly used possibly the most aggressive and offensive term in the English language,” Kamm told the newspaper.

Cook was a regular customer who had gone through the drive-thru on May 4. After the employees had trouble hearing Cook, he started berating them for their poor customer service, according to court records.

Cook was asked to leave, but he instead decided to park his car and go into the store. Pujols asked his coworker to call the police when Cook came inside. Prosecutors said Cook started arguing with Pujols and called him a racist slur.

Pujols came around the counter and told Cook not to say the slur again. When Cook repeated it, Pujols punched him in the jaw, court documents noted.

Cook’s autopsy showed that he had a skull fracture and brain contusions.

Melanie Larkin and her troll cohorts apparently do not understand "free speech" has its limits

Melanie Larkin's obsession with me has me laughing right now, but while she's posting lame ass videos that make me laugh, I'd like to point out that since her field of study was apparently learning how to cook and now the law, she needs a lesson in criminal statutes.

You see, dear, dumb, Melanie, harassing people on the Internet is actually a crime. You're begging your loser friends to "leave an honest review" and tell the internet to "do their thang", but only an idiot does not know these are euphemisms to harass and annoy those you dislike for no legitimate reason.

Oh, you can piss and moan and bitch and whine all you want. But you and your wannabe Anonymous friends must have slept through Constitution classes or you'd realize free speech has limitations in America.

From Wikipedia: "Categories of speech that are given lesser or no protection by the First Amendment (and therefore may be restricted) include obscenity, fraud, child pornography, speech integral to illegal conduct, speech that incites imminent lawless action, speech that violates intellectual property law, true threats, and commercial speech such as advertising. Defamation that causes harm to reputation is a tort and also an exception to free speech."

CIVIL LAW

You can't slander others, Melanie Larkin. Calling me a child rapist when I have not been accused of, much less convicted of, rape, is slander. Similar torts include libel, defamation of character and false light statements.

In your TikTok videos that have been taken down (but I still managed to save) you ADMIT malice, which is one of the elements of proving any of these civil torts. So, should I decide you're worth dragging to court, you've already provided me with ample evidence. You see, this blog isn't just for shits and giggles, this is also where I show that I've collected screenshots as evidence of malice. So thanks for proving a case against you.

CRIMINAL LAW

Since many of your cohorts (which, for all I know, is just one of your many Facebook accounts anyways) have chosen to make threatening statements against me and others, you are actually engaging in criminal acts.

Neb. Rev. Stat. § 28-1310

Current with changes through the 2021 Special Legislative Session

(b) Threatens to inflict physical or mental injury to such individual or any other person or physical injury to the property of such individual or any other person; or

(c) Attempts to extort property, money, or other thing of value from such individual or any other person.

(2) The offense shall be deemed to have been committed either at the place where the call or electronic communication was initiated or where it was received.

(3) Intimidation by telephone call or electronic communication is a Class III misdemeanor.

(4) For purposes of this section, electronic communication means any writing, sound, visual image, or data of any nature that is received or transmitted by an electronic communication device as defined in section 28-833.

You disagree with me? Good. You hate me? Good. You whine online? Even better! But, there ARE limits to what you can say or do.

But at the end of the day, i'll keep on fighyting to ABOLISH THE REGISTRY, and there is NOTHING you or your cohorts can do about it. No amount of TikToking or trolling will EVER change that.

PS: It took me maybe 15 minutes to type this, so if you think it took me hours to laugh at you in my last post, you're sadly mistaken.
