DAP Smear -- Sandusky Co., OH law enforcement agencies issue stern warning to online vigilante group "Dads Against Predators"

Here's an idea-- instead of idle threats, how about arresting these thugs?

(Not that the cops are doing much better, bragging about their own entrapment operations.)

I'd love to see these thugs in prison where they belong.

Law enforcement calling on Dads Against Predators to cease operations

by Aaron LeedyMonday, October 19th 2020

FREMONT, Ohio — A group of people made up of police chiefs, a prosecutor and a sheriff are calling on the organization Dads Against Predators, also known as Dap, Inc., to cease operations because they say it affects their ability to properly capture and prosecute people accused of sex crimes against children.

The Sandusky County Sheriff’s Office says Dap, Inc. posts several videos showing themselves encountering people in various community locations and exposing them as child predators.

Authorities said in a news release issued October 19 that after luring individuals to meet with Dap, Inc. members at a location for a potential sexual encounter, DAP records and publishes the chat communication, as well as the-face-to-face encounter on their Facebook page and YouTube channel.

“Unfortunately, DAP fails to potentially realize that it is creating seriously hazardous and potentially dangerous situations in community settings,” the news release stated. “By conducting these ‘operations’ in the manner that they do, it renders law enforcement unable to criminally charge these individuals and prosecutors unable to prosecute. Therefore, these potential predators are able to walk away with no repercussions for what they had the intent to do. DAP has, in essence, educated these people on ways to not get caught in the future, thus creating the potential for future victims of sexual assault. These victims are the very people we, as law enforcement, prosecutors and mental health professionals, are here to help and protect."

The news release was signed by Sandusky County Sheriff Christopher Hilton, Mental Health and Recovery Services Board Executive Director Mircea Handru, Sandusky County Prosecutor Beth Tischler, City of Fremont Law Director Jim Melle, Fremont Police Chief Dean Bliss, Green Springs Police Chief Charles Home, Clyde Police Chief Monti Campbell and Bellevue Police Chief Marc Linder.

"Local law enforcement agencies and prosecutors of Sandusky County and the City of Fremont cannot and will not sit back anymore and watch as DAP continues to parade its form of vigilante justice. Its intentions may be well intended, but their methods and outcomes are improper and unacceptable. The 'exposed' individuals may be exactly what DAP says they are, but they also may not be. DAP's careless and reckless regard for law and order and due process has resulted in the loss of life, and the situation has gotten out of hand," the news release stated.

"We ask DAP to stop, step aside and let law enforcement do what they are trained to do, which is to successfully find, investigate, arrest and prosecute those who would attempt to harm the most vulnerable of our society, our children. The judicial system shall decide whether these individuals are in fact guilty or not guilty; and everyone has the right to a due process. We will fight for them as we fight for all victims of abuse and crime. We will help those who have been victimized. In Fremont and Sandusky County, we have the resources available to help victims and will do so at a moment's notice. We are dedicated to protecting and serving everyone," authorities said. "Should DAP continue their vigilante efforts, we may be forced to prosecute them for their actions."

DAP creator Joshua Mundy says the organization started in January of this year. DAP's website is a single page directing people to a donation page. The website claims DAP has caught more than 46 predators. DAP's social media pages are more active, featuring videos of encounters.

"We were surprised by it. I didn't see it coming," said Mundy in response to the announcement from law enforcement.

Mundy told NBC 24 in a phone interview he wished authorities would have spoken privately with him first before making a public statement. He said he plans to go to the sheriff's office and speak with the sheriff directly.

"If I'm doing something illegal, then I need to be prosecuted already. If you're not going to prosecute me, then I feel like you're playing a silly game with justice," said Mundy. "I feel like there's nothing they can prosecute me with because I've worked within the law this whole time," said Mundy. "Go and watch the videos for yourself and you'll see that we have nothing but proof. By them saying it's impossible for them to work with us is a flat-out lie." he said.

Mundy said he has had success working with certain law enforcement agencies, specifically the Woodville Police Department.

Sandusky County authorities say so far this year, their own efforts led to several arrests and highlighted several initiatives and sting operations spanning several months. Two of those initiatives were an undercover sting that resulted in 15 arrests and a sex offender registration sweep that resulted in eight arrests.

Sandusky Sheriff threatens to prosecute DAP after multiple suicides connected to sting videos

Multiple law enforcement agencies warning the Dads Against Predators group to stop entrapping, recording men they track on the internet.

FREMONT, Ohio (WTVG) - A vigilante group that records videos of men allegedly looking to meet minors for sex is being warned by multiple law enforcement agencies to stop what they’re doing or face potential prosecution after two suicides.

The group, the Fremont chapter of Dads Against Predators, was specifically targeted in a letter signed by the Sandusky County Sheriff and County Prosecutor, as well as multiple police chiefs in the county.

“Local law enforcement agencies and prosecutors of Sandusky County and the City of Fremont cannot and will not sit back anymore and watch as DAP continues to parade its form of vigilante justice,” the letter, released Monday, read. “Its intentions may be well-intended, but their methods and outcomes are improper and unacceptable. The ‘exposed’ individuals may be exactly what DAP says they are, but they also may not be. DAP’s careless and reckless regard for law and order and due process has resulted in the loss of life, and the situation has gotten out of hand.”

Sandusky County Sheriff Chris Hilton said “loss of life” was a reference to two individuals who died by suicide after DAP posted videos of them on YouTube, and third suspected suicide, where a man died a day after his DAP video was posted online.

The letter lists multiple actions law enforcement has taken in 2020 to combat sex offenders, including dozens of arrests.

Fremont Ohio Vigilante group "Dads Against Predators" do not want to be called vigilantes, despite being a vigilante group.

It is a common theme-- vigilante thugs post "busts" on social media, and the police claim they don't condone this ehavior yet allow these thugs to continue operating. Phillip "Flip" Conley and Joshua Mundy claim they aren't vigilante scumbags but even the news article admits they fit the bill. They also want to push for castration and death penalty laws, so these two are pretty sick in the head.

Local group wants to rid Fremont of sexual predators

Men pose online as teen boys to lure suspects to a meeting site

FREMONT - Three men are trying to shed light on a sexual predator problem in Fremont by luring potential sex offenders to a rendezvous site by posing as teen boys, then videotaping the suspects.

But Joshua Mundy and Phillip "Flip" Conley of the group Dads Against Predators do not want to be called vigilantes.

The two, along with a third man who does not want to be identified, are trying to spotlight a problem they say can happen in any community.

"We don't want any copycats. And don't harass the families," Mundy said of what DAP does.

Though they don't call themselves vigilantes, they could be considered such, as Webster's Dictionary defines a vigilante as "a member of a volunteer committee organized to suppress and punish crime summarily (as when the processes of law are viewed as inadequate)."

During a Thursday press conference, Fremont Police Chief Dean Bliss said the group has shined an unfortunate light on predatory issues going on in Fremont, but said he does not encourage that type of justice, because of legal issues.

"I think their hearts are in the right place," Bliss said.

Acting Sandusky County Prosecutor Zak Selvey said  there is "significant" evidentiary concerns about these videos being used against suspects in three videos DAP has posted on YouTube.com.

"For a crime to occur, there's a statute in Ohio called the importuning statute which is what we believe cases like these fall under, and it creates issues if the person involved is not a law enforcement officer or actual minor child," Selvey said.

On Tuesday, the group Dads Against Predators posted a video on YouTube in which they confronted Rafael Valadez-Loera, 39, at the Walmart on Ohio 53 in Fremont after the group said they used dating applications and posed as a 14-year-old boy to lure the man to the store to meet for sexual relations.

The video went viral, getting 98,800 views in less than three days.

Valadez-Loera was charged with tampering with evidence, though Bliss did not say if the charges were related to the DAP case.

Two other videos surfaced on the DAP YouTube page, each highlighting men they messaged through apps for sex.

Mundy said he's married with three children and wanted to shine the light on predatory problems in Fremont after discovering videos of similar group in Connecticut called POP (Prey on Predators).

He was inspired to get involved in Fremont by a 2018 case in which police investigated an attempted abduction at Hayes Elementary School

And it has worked for Mundy and Conley, who stay up late, keeping their "fishing pole" online in hopes of catching a big fish.

"They are like fishes," Mundy said about the men they message. "They go away and then 15 minutes later, they're back."

And once the group has the fish hooked, it does not take long to set the wheels in motion to confront the men who are planning sexual relations with what they think is a teen boy.

Mundy said he's sacrificed time with his family to continue working to out potential predators, but the time is well spent if another potential sex offender is outed on the group's YouTube page.

He said he understands the risks involved in meeting strangers, but Mundy said it is more nerves than fear when meeting the men they've lured to the rendezvous.

Mundy said DAP will continue working on outing potential predators but said they will not be partnering with the Fremont Police Department.

"We just want to clean Fremont out," Mundy said of sexual predators.

He added his goal is to see harsher punishment for predators, including chemical castration and the death penalty.

Since the group has begun, Mundy estimates he has received messages from at least 100 people, though not all are from Fremont.

Broke BAANC Mountain: "Bikers Against Abused and Neglected Children," another Ohio group of thugs, runs the same tired vigilante playbook

BAANC Members are rather easy to spot....
It seems that Ohio has had more than its fair share of idiotic vigilante scumbag groups over the years and now another group of wannabe have popped up online. "Bikers Against Abused and Neglected Children" sounds like they're against children (not surprising they didn't put much thought into the name) is just another group of online trolls that like to cosplay as bikers on weekends and act tough. On the surface, they run a 501(c)3 that apparently raises money through gambling and alcohol (promoting vices that attract hardened criminals, thus keeping in line with the pseudo-biker theme) to raise money for some kid's toys and "legal expenses for victims." (I don't know what that's supposed to mean, seeing as how crime victims don't generally have any legal expenses unless they mean they are helping to sue people, but even then, that is questionable.) They're running their "charity" out of their own home at 9413 State Route 99 N, Monroeville, Ohio 44847.

Obviously, if that was all there was to the story, then I wouldn't be writing this article. They started an online attack as response to my appearance on the Ashleigh Banfield show. They spammed the Facebook page run on my behalf then proceeded to make a few veiled threats. After dealing with other vigilante groups over the years, it is easy to see a pattern develop.

First, they start by finding whatever bad info they can find on you, never considering it was also written by losers like themselves who don't necessarily care about being accurate:

Yeah, anyone who quotes Encyclopedia Dramatica [a garbage satirical site run by Anonymous rejects] as a valid resource is automatically dumber than a Trump voter. [Many BAANC members/ supporters LIKE THIS ONE are Trumptards. That's no surprise.] Anyways, continuing with the playbook, the next step is to target anyone that is a member of the page:

Again, they act as if we've never dealt with a vigilante group before. Newsflash, folks. Unlike my main website, this blog and my social media pages are run by more than one person. As much as these folks hate it, I don't just sit at home 24/7. While I and the editors at my FB page were out enjoying life, the losers at BAANC spent all day spamming the page. Of course, those remarks were promptly deleted and they took to crying over it. Too bad.

The most important point is that they took to engaging on doxxing, a threatening behavior online:

There is no need to specifically mention one's workplace without a reason, and that reason is obviously to target people with harassing calls to one's workplace. Since BAANC is slow in the head, I have taken the liberty of highlighting where the threatening action was made:

It seems this behavior has not been isolated, either. The following was sent to me by one of BAANC's victims:

And while BAANC claims they are a non-violent group, Their posts say otherwise:

It seems they have even lowered themselves to lame impersonation too:

Seriously? That's kids stuff! Their tactics are pretty lame, quite frankly. After all, there's THIS clown who actually thinks voting 10 times on a media poll will somehow change the US Supreme Court's opinion on Packingham v NC, a UNANIMOUS decision guaranteeing a registrant's right to use Facebook:

I should mention they even tagged a guy who actually believes in the universally debunked Satanic Panic stuff, but I think I've already shown sufficient evidence to prove they are a bunch of phonies.

Be wary of groups like these. Immediately report these fuckers to the police every time they engage in harassment.

Names associated with this vigilante scumbag group. They claim "12k members" but in reality, only a handful of these fucktards actually are involved with this pseudo-biker gang. I guess I should add an addendum here and point out that because these folks all came at the same time to bombard the FB page wit various crude, vulgar, even threatening remarks, this would lead any reasonable person to assume everyone on the list is connected to this online vigilante group. Either way, the following names were all blocked from further harassing communications on FB:

Craig Shilling
Laurie Fulk Keller
Rynae Dawson
Lisa Noble
Sara Tuttamore
Josh Kaman
Gary Anthony
Malinda M Taylor
Rick Masters
Dustin Evans
Julie Weyandt
Sue Papenfuss McClure
Steve Collins
Lee Bickley
April Keller
Hannah Maynard
Maile Zinn
Candi Noftz
Kurt Knowles
Angela Moll
Jeffrey M Gauchat Jr
Kat Reisert
Duane Cyr (admits to having multiple accounts, violating FB TOS)
Joan Tennant
Alyssa Holliday
Fred Lesher
Veronica Webb
Kimberly Cole
Brandon Bragg

Here's a screenshot so a certain complainer who is claiming she wasn't a party to this coordinated attack. Maybe the complainer should pick a better group to follow in the future and be more mindful of her online behavior before attacking others:

Is the news media promoting vigilante violence against Brock Turner?

The news media is jumping all over the case of Brock Turner's release and the subsequent protest. Before I move on, lets read the disclaimer on the front page of the Ohio registry website:

When folks stand outside of someone's house with assault weapons and threaten murder and rape of another human being, that is harassment, a violation of Ohio law. Look at these pictures and tell me you would not find them threatening:

Obviously, the police aren't arresting these thugs, but the news media is covering these thugs in a positive light. Even worse, they are defending the actions of these "open carry" punks with Anonymous masks. (Anonymous is already a pathetic joke, and at times, a hypocrite). But my simple comment on the ABC News site got me permanently banned from posting comments:

Protesters Gather Outside Brock Turner's Family Home in Ohio

These "protesters" are engaging in criminal activity. They aren't protesting but harassing in violation of the law.

It is interesting this comment was removed, but there are some far more derogatory comments that remain:

Jay Pee  Exarchrav • 14 hours ago
Why is it wrong? His neighbors are sending him a message that rapists who didn't pay for their crimes are not welcomed there. Would you rather they anonymously throw bricks through the windows instead?

Bill Keeling • 21 hours ago
Welcome home Brock, You make your Mom, and Dad proud. Your neighbors will be happy to see you around. Some will want to take you hunting. You should go with them.

Jay Pee  Guest • 14 hours ago
Ok ... I wouldn't hang out drinking with Brock if I were you ... Might end up with his finger up your butt one night

MsT-Mac • 14 hours ago
All these comments in support of the rapist is unbelievable. I haven't followed this story, but this guy has to be white. Must be.

lucey1  TexasVulcan • 11 hours ago
They can make his life miserable, which is what he deserves.

Liars N. Fools • 13 hours ago
Hound him. That is the right thing to do since the judge did not do the right thing.

I get it, some folks are unhappy Brock Turner got such a "light sentence." Life on the registry IS a life sentence, however. Having a bunch of gun nuts wearing Gay Fawkes masks at your doorstep doesn't help matters. Having the media endorse and support these thugs is worse.

ADDENDUM: I was on the Dr Drew show last night discussing this case, and I got my opportunity to publicly condemn these vigilante scumbags. (PS: It seems I caught 300+ pound liar Shaun Webb in yet another lie, as he claimed he personally made sure I'd never be on the show again. LOL):
