Anderson IN vigilante Adam Kinnard was surprised he was being arrested for arson after setting fires at the homes of Registered Persons

This is the face of someone who does not understand a lot of things. Maybe he fried his brain with drugs like Patrick Drum had done. If this was Ohio, he'd be on an arsonist's registry.

Anderson arsonist told police he targeted child molesters’ homes, court docs reveal

Matt Christy, Fox 59, 12/21/23

ANDERSON, Ind. — Court documents reveal that an Anderson man didn’t understand why he was being arrested for arson after setting fire to porches, sheds and even an RV. The man reportedly admitted to setting the fires but told police he’d been targeting the homes of child molesters who were “out on the street.”

Adam Kinnard, 33, was arrested on Tuesday morning after an RV was found engulfed in flames behind a home on Fletcher Street. Police said Kinnard was spotted by officers — who had been patrolling the area due to numerous recent arsons — walking out from behind a home on Fletcher Street right before the fire was spotted. Kinnard was reportedly acting “evasive and erratic” after he spotted the police officer’s vehicle.

According to court documents, numerous fires had been set in close proximity to each other in Anderson on Tuesday morning. Shortly after 5 a.m., firefighters were called to a structure fire in the 2100 block of Sheridan Street where a detached garage was found engulfed in flames. Roughly an hour later, a shed was found burning in the 2400 block of Chase Street, the fire spreading to a neighboring garage as well. Two hours after that, a back porch was found on fire in the 1900 block of Central Avenue.

A police officer was still in the area of Central Avenue when Kinnard was spotted wearing a tan Carhart jacket and plaid pajama pants walking out from behind a house in the 1700 block of Fletcher Street. He reportedly turned down an alley and dunked behind houses after spotting the officer.

A school bus driver then flagged down the officer and reported the fire behind a home in the 1700 block of Fletcher Street, where the burning RV was found.

After being detained by officers, Kinnard denied setting any fires and claimed to just be walking to the library, court documents detail. Police said Kinnard had two Bic lighters and one orange butane lighter on his person. He did not have any cigarettes, despite claiming he had the lighters for smoking, and police noted small burn marks on his pajama pants.

After being confronted with video evidence that showed him in the area of some of the recent arsons, Kinnard reportedly became “upset and belligerent.”

When told he was being placed under arrest, Kinnard reportedly jumped up and “positioned his body as if he was going to hit (the investigator),” police wrote in their report. After being handcuffed, Kinnard began shouting about how he set the fires because child molesters lived in those homes.

Court documents detail that Kinnard told investigators that “he was tired of all the child molesters that were out on the street” and that he had used his cell phone to research where sex offenders were registered and then targeted these reported sex offenders by setting fires on their property.

Court documents reveal that several of the residences where fires were set were registered as having sex offenders residing at those locations.

Kinnard was arrested on four preliminary charges of arson as a Level 4 felony.

If officially charged and convicted, Kinndard could face up to 12 years in prison.

--He should've been denied bail but got only a $25k bond.

He's had brushes with the law before.

In 2016, "Madison County sheriff’s deputies arrested Adam Neale Kinnard, 26, 1900 block of Central Avenue, Anderson, at 9:51 a.m. Tuesday. A $5,000 bond was set on Level 6 failure to return to lawful detention, and no bond was set on Class C felony violation of work release."

In 2017, "Madison County deputies arrested Adam Neale Kinnard, 27, 1900 block of Central Avenue, Anderson, at 2:19 a.m. Monday. No bond was set on violation of Mental Health Court on a Class C felony, two counts of violation of mental health court on Level 6 felonies, and Class A misdemeanor invasion of privacy."

Other searches from IN Court records and incarceration records searches have an Adam N Kinnard in court or incarcerated for theft (including a Grand Theft Auto), burglary, receiving stolen property, and multiple supervision violations, some of which was previously noted in the arrsest reports.

Who is obsessed with who? "Shoalanda Speaks", "Lucky Larry" and a "suspicious fire"

For over ten years, a shitty crime blogger going by the screen name Shoalanda Speaks is obsessed with Derek W. Logue of OnceFallen. She's recently made friends with another troll who currently uses the screen names "Lucky Larry" or "Larry Lynch" (not his real name, but a name stolen from a man of a similar name in Elijay, GA, nearby where the fake Larry Lynch's IP address has been traced back; he sometimes goes by "Val Parkworst", a parody of long-dead vigilante Valerie "Valigator" Parkhurst). This "Licky Larry" character has been posting for at least three full years, if not longer. Both are obsessed with Derek Logue. It is funny they have claimed it is the other way around, but both continuously write aout Derek, steal his pictures and have posted pictures of Derek AND of his friends and family, post disparaging blogs about him, and have even tried interfering in court cases and attempting to incite violebnce against him. Who is obsessed with who?

One of the many harassing posts we at AZU continuously block from Shoalanda Speaks and"Lucky Larry", here using the Val persona.

In 2010, "Shoalanda Speaks" posted her first blog post about Derek Logue, posting a picture of him from his 1996 wedding announcement (causing emotional distress to Derek's ex-wife, who is in no way connected to the Anti-Registry Movement) and made the following veiled threat --

"Logue would like us to believe that he and others like him are changed. What his writings actually do is portray such a twisted individual that we can't blame those who live nearby this Sheffield "activist" for wanting rid of him. We hope that everyone from Turtle Point Village to Manning Homes, from Wilson Lake Shores to Little Guatemala in Russellville, teach their children about sexual predators. After all, they don't wear it stamped on their foreheads...but they should." She also posted a link to the defunct Wikisposure, who took down their website after being repeatedly sued for slander.

The Sheffield police took a report but did not follow up on this threat because cops don't care about investigating crimes against Registered Persons. It is the complete and utter failure by the Sheffield PD to investigate Shoalanda that has empowered this dubious crime blog to continue posting lies as well as threats. A crime blogger who fails to do her research is worthless as a crime blogger, but that's why she's a crime blogger, not a criminal investigator. She could not "finish" her investigation because she discovered the things she wanted to believe about Derek Logue came from a blog that was shut down after being sued for posting lies about those they targeted, including Derek. Well, that and her only other resource was Clay "T-Sand" Keys, a recidivist currently serving 15 years in a FloriDUH state prison. (Shoalanda has continuous misrepresented Derek Logue as a "child rapist" because she info came from said blog rather than admit she was wrong.)

In the pasty ten years, Shoalanda Speaks has featured Derek Logue nearly two dozen times while Logue has not even lived in the Shoals area in a decade.

Of course, since she has little to fear from the local inept backwater police of the Shoals area, so she's made other veiled threats, including those written by the guy pretending to be "Larry Lynch." One recent example was the "Pen-N-Sword" blogpost (another shitshow by Shoalanda and her new girlfriend "Lucky Larry") in which they suggested "putting an end to Derek Logue.

Interesting, both Shoalanda and Larry Lynch (who runs a fake blog called "Sex Offender News", a name he stole from a regular poster at FAC) both started talking about the fire, calling it "suspicious" while implying Logue was somehow the cause of the fire. It is funny how Trollanda like to claimshe only posts factual information but lies to her readers that Logue planned on moving to Muscle Shoals, a shithole of a city where no self-respecting human being would ever choose to move willingly.

But now that suspicion has been turned around on Shoalanda and Larry Lynch, two people who were calling, texting, and emailing threats and harassment against Derek Logue, they're going on the defensive.

What is also interesting is they were quick to rejoice the moment the news came out about the fire. The timing is not coincidental and should be seen as suspicious on the part of these vigilante groups. It is known that some criminals like to admire their crimes, and Shoalanda Speaks/ "Lucky Larry" are behaving as some arsonists do.

Now, if you've noticed that "Lauren Book", the Florida State Senator, is listed in the tag line, it is because the person who calls himself "Larry Lynch" has gone by a number of names -- "Killen Kate" on Pen-n-Sword, Barry Williams on Broward County crime blogs, and "Garl Pinkerton" on Twitter (among others. This is important news because it was this "Garl Pinkerton" alias that contacted Logue in July 2017 about Senator Book's bogus SLAPP Suit within hours of Book filing the paperwork:

To me, this implies that Senator Lauren Book and "Larry Lynch" and his two dozen aliases know each other. How else would he have known about a SLAPP Suit filed 1100 miles from Derek Logue's home? Speaking of that SLAPP Suit, the trolls are upset that Senator Book's SLAPP Suit was stricken down as a blatant violation of constitutional rights

Up until this point, there has been no punishment gor two stalkers who have created phony reports on a Registered Citizen activist for years. They've threatened family members, including an ex-wife Logue has not even communicated with for a decade and has no involvement whatsoever with the Anti-Registry Movement.
Jessie Lessley the arsonist, presumably
a big fan of Shoalanda Speaks

So this "Lucky Larry" is seemingly connected to both Shoalanda Speaks and Senator Book, two people who have harbored publioc ill-will towards Logue and have used the registry as a tool for harassment in violation of the law, meaning both have engaged in criminal activity.

Do I believe the fire was suspicious? Yes, because vigilantes have engaged in arson, like the Lessleys, a family called out for harassing a local Registrant in Alabama back in 2017.

To be fair, we at AZU understand that people like Shoalanda Speaks are uneducated and easily mislead. While Shoalanda Speaks rails on Logue living in rural Nebraska, yet Alabama consistently ranks at the bottom of US educational styatem lists. US News and World Report lists Alabama as 50th (dead last) in education in America. (Incidentally, Nebraska ranks in the Top 10.) The only good thing about Alabama is leaving. The Shoals has NOTHING to offer anyone. Thwey're so desperate to get people to move there, they are paying people up to $10k to relocate to that isolated backwater cesspool

Shoalanda is a product of a failed education system. Many of her readers are just as dumb:

Do I think Shoalanda Speaks and/or fake Lucky Larry committed arson? I'd say that is a maybe. They were awfullyquick to spread the news, so perhaps that is evidence of their involvement, even if it is merely indirect involvement. They think they are untouchable, but Senator Book thought the same thing until she lost her SLAPP Suit.

People like "Lucky Larry" or "Shoalanda Speaks" think trash-talking is scaring us into submission. It is not. They love to think we fear them. We don't. Better people than they have tried silencing this movement and have failed. Harassment does not work. The laws are slowly changing. Muscle Shoals, as isolated as it is, cannot avoid the coming change. There IS Anti-Registry activism alive everywhere, even in a remote place like Muscle Shoals, AL. Deal with it.

Three vigilante thugs try to burn down apartment building to go after registrant, kills elderly woman instead

Here are three more of Valerie Parkhurst's "heroes," burning down an entire apartment building just to go after a sex offender.

2 suspects go to Troy in fatal arson
2 waive extradition, 3rd to have hearing in North Carolina

Val's Hero #1: Abbey Slaga

Two of the three suspects in the fatal May 1 arson have waived extradition from North Carolina while the third will have a hearing next week on returning to Troy, a spokesman for Rensselaer County District Attorney Joel Abelove said Monday.

The three are charged with first-degree arson for allegedly setting the fire, which authorities now believe caused the death of Gladys Halpin, 82.

Halpin was rescued from the 520 Second Ave. apartment building fire, during which she suffered a heart attack. Firefighters were able to revive her and get her to the hospital. She died May 23 at Bay State General Hospital in Massachusetts. Final autopsy results have not yet been released.

On Sunday, David Stanley, 22, of East Greenbush, was arraigned in City Court and sent to the jail without bail, police spokesman Capt. Daniel DeWolf said. He had previously waived extradition in North Carolina before being brought to Troy.

On Monday, Tyler Smith, 24, formerly of Castleton, waived his extradition at a hearing in Raleigh, N.C., and will be back in Troy by the end of the week, said Jonathan Desso, a spokesman for Abelove.

Abby Slaga, 21, of East Greenbush, did not waive extradition because she wanted to consult with an attorney, Desso said. Slaga's hearing will be June 16 in Franklin County, N.C. She will continue to be held on a fugitive from justice warrant in the Franklin County Jail without bail.

Stanley, Slaga and Smith were arrested last week by Raleigh police and Franklin County deputies on fugitive warrants issued in Troy. City detectives took part in the arrests.
Val's hero #2: Tyler Smith

DeWolf said detectives would return to Raleigh to bring back Smith.

According to Stanley's arrest report and criminal complaint, at least two people have given statements to police about what they saw and heard that night.

Those witnesses said Monday that the three defendants and a man who lived on the second floor of 520 Second Ave. had a feud over money that was apparently stolen from the tenant.

"They spray painted 'Rapo' on his door and on the building," said one witness who did not want his name used. "He was a Level 1 sex offender, we were told, but it sounded to me like they were arguing over money. I could smell the gasoline they used to set the fire outside his door."

The target of the flames was convicted of a sex crime in 2004, officials said.

Another witness said she had just come home from work that night and heard the argument and went to see what was going on.

"Then I saw the whole building just go 'boom' and saw the three people run out the door, one on fire. I then rushed around to make sure everyone was getting out."

Smith had been out of state prison for just a week before he allegedly took part in setting the fatal fire, according to authorities and New York state inmate records. He had been in prison for attempted burglary in Rensselaer County.

The three fled to the home in North Carolina of a relative of one of the suspects.

Officials said all three were friends and Slaga was involved in a romantic relationship with one of the men, but they did not specify which one.

Officials declined to say how the fire was set.

A video from the night of the fire appeared to show three people fleeing the building at 520 Second Ave.

The fire spread to neighboring 518 Second Ave. next door. Both buildings were heavily damaged and are now boarded up.

The investigation continues, and authorities have not ruled out additional charges.

The May 1 fire has not been linked to an earlier string of 13 fires set in Lansingburgh between July 2014 and February 2015, police said.

Russell Speigel is "innocent until proven guilty," but the guilt is written on his face, in a way

CROSS-POSTED FROM THE SHIITAKE AWARDS

So everyone who is arrested is innocent until proven guilty. However, Russell Speigel of Cottage Grove, WI, has guilt written, or rather, "burned," onto his face. If there was ever a time to use the old adage, "play with fire and you'll get burned," now is that time. If he keeps this up, he might be up for a Darwin Award rather than a Shiitake.

Cottage Grove man arrested on suspicion of burning house intended for sex offender
2/24/15, By Nico Savidge, Wisconsin State Journal

Dane County authorities arrested a town of Cottage Grove man they say set fire to a house Sunday night in a vigilante effort to keep a sex offender from moving in there.

Russell A. Speigle, 50, was arrested on a tentative charge of arson for the fire, which destroyed a home at 4721 Gaston Circle in the town of Cottage Grove, Sheriff Dave Mahoney said Tuesday.

Investigators are now trying to determine if Speigle was responsible for another fire that damaged the same house in December, Mahoney said.

They are also looking for some pieces of evidence that could connect Speigle to the fire, the Sheriff’s Office said.

The home was to house 40-year-old Harold Nyberg as part of a supervised sex offender release program, over vocal opposition from the man’s neighbors — Speigle among them, Mahoney said.

The first fire, on Dec. 8, caused $90,000 worth of damage, the Sheriff’s Office said. The home was repaired after that blaze and was considered a total loss after Sunday’s fire.

Speigle lived “only doors away” from the Gaston Circle home, Mahoney said, and had attended a notification meeting the Sheriff’s Office held last week to tell neighborhood residents about Nyberg.

“Like many, (Speigle) voiced his displeasure” that Nyberg was coming to the area, Mahoneysaid.

An article about the notification meeting from The Herald-Independent quoted Speigle saying the neighborhood was “upset and on guard” with Nyberg set to move in.

Nyberg was convicted in 1994 of second-degree child sexual assault and was later committed as a sexually violent person to a secure treatment center in Mauston, according to courtrecords.

Despite objections from Speigle and other neighbors, some of whom are now pushing the Cottage Grove Town Board to adopt an ordinance barring sex offenders on supervised release from living there, Nyberg was set to move to the home within a fewweeks.

“The place to carry out those kinds of actions is at the public notification meeting, so that we can address those concerns,” Mahoney said. “What is unacceptable is acts of vigilantism such as this.”

Investigators talked with Speigle at his home soon after the second fire, Mahoney said, and could see that he had recently suffered burns.

Speigle’s booking photo from the Dane County Jail shows what appear to be burns across much of his face.

Mahoney did not say why investigators didn’t arrest Speigle that night, but the Sheriff’s Office said authorities learned he had left Cottage Grove soon after talking with detectives.

Investigators with the Sheriff’s Office and the state Department of Justice continued building a case against Speigle, tracked him to a relative’s home in Muscoda and arrested him there Monday, Mahoney said.

Speigle was treated and released from the UW Hospital burn unit, then booked into the jail Tuesday afternoon, the Sheriff’s Office said.

At a news conference Tuesday, Mahoney declined to say whether authorities suspect anyone other than Speigle may have been involved in the arson, or if Speigle has been cooperating with investigators.

Mahoney stressed that Sunday’s blaze put firefighters and first responders in danger, and said the “most alarming” aspect of Speigle’s actions was that he set fire to a home so close to where he lived.

“Not only did the actions of Mr. Speigle endanger public safety professionals, it endangered his own neighbors,” Mahoney said.

As they continue their investigations, Mahoney said authorities are looking for two gas canisters they believe Speigle used in the Sunday night fire.

Mahoney said investigators could see Speigle holding the red, plastic jugs Sunday night in images taken from a camera near the home that burned.

Authorities suspect the cans may have been dumped somewhere between Cottage Grove and Muscoda, and asked anyone who might have seen them to call the state arson tip line at 800-362-3005 or the Sheriff’s Office tip line at 608-284-6900.
