Punch Drunk ex-MMA fighter and convicted criminal Garrett Gross grossly bastardizes bible message by naming his group Operation 17:2

I've never cared much for MMA. As far as I am concerned, the only time MMA fighting was ever nominally interesting was when it started because it was on the heels of the one-on-one fighting game craze of the 1990s. Boxer vs. wrestler, kickboxer vs. Kung Fu master, etc. Now it is just a magnet for MAGAts. 

Garrett Gross isn't event anyone special. He has a mediocre record at best at 11-10. Whoop-de-doo. I never would've heard of this bum because he is not really a standout in the world of entrapment "stings" except that this asshat likes to promote religion in the worst possible way. 

Gross's group is called "Operation 17:2". It is derived from Luke 17:2, the bible passage that vigilantes LOVE to misquote, namely that, "It would be better for them to be thrown into the sea with a millstone tied around their neck than to cause one of these little ones to stumble." 

But here is the FULL segment in proper context, Luke 17:1-4. 

Jesus said to his disciples: “Things that cause people to stumble are bound to come, but woe to anyone through whom they come. 2 It would be better for them to be thrown into the sea with a millstone tied around their neck than to cause one of these little ones to stumble. 3 So watch yourselves. “If your brother or sister[a] sins against you, rebuke them; and if they repent, forgive them. 4 Even if they sin against you seven times in a day and seven times come back to you saying ‘I repent,’ you must forgive them.”

This passage can also be found at Matthew 18:6--

"But whoso shall offend one of these little ones which believe in me, it were better for him that a millstone were hanged about his neck, and that he were drowned in the depth of the sea." -- Matthew 18:6, KJV

This passage has been popping up around the internet among vigilante groups and alleged victim's rights groups, which they claim suggests that child abuse is worse than any other sin in God's eyes. My answer begins with the following warning:

Knowing this first, that no prophecy of the Scripture is of any private interpretation. -- 2 Peter 1:20

If anyone actually read Matthew 18, and the context it is used, you would see the meaning behind the passage is not what victim's rights groups are proclaiming:

The Greatest in the Kingdom of Heaven

 1 At that time the disciples came to Jesus and asked, “Who, then, is the greatest in the kingdom of heaven?”

 2 He called a little child to him, and placed the child among them. 3 And he said: “Truly I tell you, unless you change and become like little children, you will never enter the kingdom of heaven. 4 Therefore, whoever takes the lowly position of this child is the greatest in the kingdom of heaven. 5 And whoever welcomes one such child in my name welcomes me.

Causing to Stumble

    6 “If anyone causes one of these little ones—those who believe in me—to stumble, it would be better for them to have a large millstone hung around their neck and to be drowned in the depths of the sea. 7 Woe to the world because of the things that cause people to stumble! Such things must come, but woe to the person through whom they come! 8 If your hand or your foot causes you to stumble, cut it off and throw it away. It is better for you to enter life maimed or crippled than to have two hands or two feet and be thrown into eternal fire. 9 And if your eye causes you to stumble, gouge it out and throw it away. It is better for you to enter life with one eye than to have two eyes and be thrown into the fire of hell.  -- NIV

 Jesus states two things. First off, in verses 3-5 Jesus compares the ideal Believer to a little child. In versus 6-9, Jesus is warning us about scandals in general. The Greek word σκανδαλίσῃ, translated as "stumble" in the NIV, is pronounced skandalisē. It is where we get the English term "scandal." Though we may immediately think of the Catholic Abuse scandal or maybe a political sex scandal, scandal is a general term for a large variety of activities. If you each your child to become a thief, it is a scandal. Jesus was warning again leading others into scandals by their actions.

What about the rest of the chapter? In Verses 15-19, we are taught the Christian method of dealing with Believers sinning in the Church. There are levels of rebuke in which multiple chances at forgiveness is possible-- one on one, then in the presence of a couple of witnesses, then to the church, and if all else fails separate yourself from the offender. The key here is forgiveness. It is a concept lost to modern America.

The last part of the chapter is the Parable of the unmerciful servant, warning us against squandering God's mercy. We have forgotten the concepts of forgiveness and mercy, though it is a very common theme in the Bible. After all, in Matthew 18:21-22 Jesus says not to forgive seven times, but seventy times seven (or seventy seven times depending on the translation). It does seem ironic how that message reminding us to forgive is in the exact same chapter as the verse abused by groups using the passage to promote agendas.

"If he sins against you seven times in a day, and seven times comes back to you and says, 'I repent,' forgive him." --- Luke 17:4 NIV

Scripture is highly symbolic. In Biblical times, numbers were symbolic, and the number seven means complete. What does it mean to forgive? THIS SITE can explain that far better than I can. I do know forgiveness is a process but it is also releasing yourself of the prison you make for yourself by perpetuating hatred. It is contrary to our vindictive attitude. You merely have to look at vendettas or blood feuds to see what happens when our desire for retribution for harms done goes unchecked.

Forgiveness does not mean we necessarily forget, but it does mean we let go of our need for vengeance, especially vengeance disguised as "justice."

Back to Garrett Gross-- He boasts of serving time in prison for being a dope boy. Now he makes a career out of entrapping people on the Internet to sell merch and beg for donations to "expand" his dubious "non-profit organization." Garrett Gross is still a dope boy, it is just now he is pedddling a different kind of mind-altering substance to a community of braindead idiots that lap it up. I'm not surprised that we have yet another God & Guns type among the self-professed "predator hunters", but misquoting scripture for his sick pleasure while bashing others who struggle in the faith is a whole new level of hypocrisy.

That’s a quote, according to police, a young man told his girlfriend after killing another man and dismembering his body, stuffing the remains in suitcases before dumping them in the Compound.

Thursday, when your Palm Bay Community Correspondent James Sparvero saw Lucas Jones face a judge for the second time this week - this time on a murder charge and without a bond - it was still unclear why police said the 19-year-old killed 28-year-old Colie Daniel.

Now, though, in a new affidavit, police said Jones told his girlfriend he wanted to kill sex offenders, and he even printed a listed of registered sex offenders who lived nearby...

A Florida mother whose family is accused of ambushing law enforcement officers, killing one and injuring two, had sought to lure neighbors who she believed were pedophiles into a fatal trap at her home but was interrupted by authorities, law enforcement officials said Monday.

A search of the family’s home in Eustis, northwest of Orlando, revealed more than 20 high-caliber rifles, shotguns and pistols that had been staged around the living room, Lake County Sheriff Peyton Grinnell said at a news conference.

Authorities also found a stockpile of ammunition, body armor, gas masks, ready-to-eat meals, ghillie (camouflage) suits, anti-government propaganda and media promoting conspiracy theories, Grinnell said.

"This was nothing short of an ambush. The evidence will show that," Bill Gladson, state attorney for Florida's Fifth Judicial Circuit, told reporters.

Julie Sulpizio, 48, was arrested on suspicion of murder, attempted murder and other crimes, court records show. She is being held without bail.

Because of the nature of the alleged crime, the case must go before a grand jury within 21 days, Gladson said. Sulpizio's arraignment is scheduled for Sept. 3.

The public defender assigned to represent Sulpizio could not immediately be reached for comment Tuesday.

Her husband, Michael Sulpizio, was found dead in the family’s home Friday after, Grinnell said, he fatally shot Lake County Master Deputy Bradley Link, 28, and critically injured a second officer, Deputy First Class Stefano Gargano.

A third officer, Master Deputy Sheriff Harold Howell, was also wounded. 

Michael Sulpizio and the couple’s two adult daughters were all found dead on the family’s couch, Grinnell said. The body camera on Link, the fatally injured deputy, who was inside the family’s home when he was shot multiple times, appeared to have captured the Sulpizios taking their own lives, Grinnell added.

The sheriff's office first responded to the scene at 7:45 p.m. Friday, when authorities were told that a woman — later identified as Julie Sulpizio — was assaulting her neighbors, whom she accused of "being sinners," and saying, 'I know what you did,'" Grinnell said.

After an officer arrived, Julie Sulpizio identified herself as "Helen under God's will" and said her neighbors were involved in pedophilia, Grinnell said. One of the neighbors told the officer that Julie Sulpizio had tried to get them to walk to her house, Grinnell said, but that they didn't trust her.

In a later interview with investigators, Sulpizio said she was trying to lure them to her home so her husband could kill them, Grinnell said.

"She was not successful because of our deputies," he said.

A detective investigating the case said at the news conference that investigators found bumper stickers, fliers and handouts promoting anti-government propaganda and conspiracy theories at the home. The detective did not say whether the material is linked to the incident.

In her interview with investigators, the detective said, Sulpizio said that she could “visualize souls” and that it was her job to bring her husband “dark souls.”

After Sulpizio was handcuffed, Grinnell said, deputies tried to conduct a welfare check at her family's nearby home. Officers found two dead dogs in the front yard and a window screen that had been kicked out, he said.

Inside, they saw three people running and believed a burglary or a home invasion may have been in progress, he said.

After roughly an hour, Grinnell said, the deputies announced themselves and failed to reach anyone side. They entered the home through a laundry room, Grinnell said, and Link's body camera captured a man who appeared to be wearing body armor positioned with a rifle on a couch.

The gunman, believed to be Michael Sulpizio, fired several rounds, striking Link in the back, Grinnell said. Howell was hit in the wrist, Grinnell said, and he and other deputies retreated.

When officers tried to negotiate with the Sulpizios for the release of Link's body, Grinnell said, a woman in the home was captured on the deputy's body camera racking her gun and yelling, "My king will kill all of you."

Around 9:30 p.m., a tactical unit entered through the laundry room and was met with a volley of gunfire, Grinnell said. Deputy First Class Stefano Gargano, who had a ballistics shield, was struck with multiple high-caliber rounds through a wall, incapacitating him, Grinnell said.

As other deputies tried to remove him, they were being "actively engaged by suspects," Grinnell added, calling the officers "heroes."

At 11:02 p.m., Grinnell said, two gunshots were heard in quick succession. A third one was heard moments later.

Inside, authorities found the bodies of Michael Sulpizio and the two daughters, Savannah Sulpizio, 23, and Cheyenne Sulpizio, 22, Grinnell said.

Gargano is stable and Howell is expected to make a full recovery. Link was airlifted to a hospital and pronounced dead, Grinnell said.

The sheriff’s office said Link had worked for the department since 2019 and "quickly became part of our family and faithfully served our citizens with courage and zeal."

Florida Thug gets only two years' house arrest for punching elderly Registrant to death

It is a sad story all around but Pujols dodged a major bullet. If Pujols had murdered a non-Registrant, he would have served a REAL prison sentence. You don't punch frail old men in the face no matter what they call you. And now you have a reord that will follow you the rest of your life and will always be seen as a violent thug. 

All that street macho crap got you house arrest and 3 years probation, but now you'll have a harder time getting a job for life. I hope it was worth it, you piece of crap. 

Although the attack was not seemingly the result of registry status, I'm almost certain the fact the victim was a Registered Person led to the extremely light sentence.

Florida Dunkin’ employee sentenced for delivering deadly punch to customer who used racist slur

TAMPA, Fla. (AP) — A Florida Dunkin’ employee was sentenced to two years of house arrest after delivering a deadly punch to a customer who used a racist slur against him.

A Tampa judge ordered Corey Pujols, 27, to complete 200 hours of community service and attend an anger management course after Pujols pleaded guilty to felony battery.

Last May, 77-year-old Vonelle Cook, a registered sex offender, was irate when he went into the Dunkin’ and started yelling about the quality of customer service, police and prosecutors said.

Pujols, who’s Black, asked Cook to leave, which is when Cook called Pujols a racist slur. Pujols punched Cook, who fell to the floor and hit his head. Cook died three days later.

Initally, Pujols was charged with manslaughter, reported AP.

In agreeing to a plea deal, prosecutors considered the “totality of the circumstances,” including Pujols’ age, his lack of criminal history and the fact that he did not intend to cause Cook’s death, Grayson Kamm, a spokesman for Hillsborough State Attorney Andrew Warren, told the Tampa Bay Times.

He said they also considered the behavior of Cook and what he said.

“Two of the primary factors were the aggressive approach the victim took toward the defendant and everyone working with the defendant, and that the victim repeatedly used possibly the most aggressive and offensive term in the English language,” Kamm told the newspaper.

Cook was a regular customer who had gone through the drive-thru on May 4. After the employees had trouble hearing Cook, he started berating them for their poor customer service, according to court records.

Cook was asked to leave, but he instead decided to park his car and go into the store. Pujols asked his coworker to call the police when Cook came inside. Prosecutors said Cook started arguing with Pujols and called him a racist slur.

Pujols came around the counter and told Cook not to say the slur again. When Cook repeated it, Pujols punched him in the jaw, court documents noted.

Cook’s autopsy showed that he had a skull fracture and brain contusions.

Here is the thing, the person at the center of this story did something he shouldn't have done, even if it is legal to do so. However, it should be illegal for people to harass registered citizens, something Valerie Parkhurst is known to do. Yet, the Florida registry website has no disclaimers stating it is illegal to harass or bully registered persons in the state of FloriDUH. The other question: Why, if this man is conveniently in violation of state law at his residence, was he given the green light to move in to begin with? Smells fishy to me.

DAVIE (CBSMiami) – Police have given a registered sex offender who was seen allegedly taking a photo of a 9-year-old girl, inside of a Publix supermarket, 30-days to find a new residence.
The case began when the mother of the 9-year-old girl, Maria Leon, said she learned about the incident that happened Monday.
“This sex offender started taking pictures of my daughter. She was there with my father. Someone in line saw him doing it and notified my Dad and called the manager.”
Activist Valerie Parkhurst, along with Leon are grateful that stranger noticed and spoke up.
“We need to look out for our fellow human beings,” said Parkhurst.  “It’s just imperative that we look out for one another and be alert for something like this.  These guys are prolific, they’re everywhere.”
Davie Police were alerted and investigated 64-year-old registered sex offender Joseph Fezza.
While police found the picture “inappropriate,” they could find anything illegal about the sex offender’s actions.
Captain Dale Engle of the Davie Police Department said, “Initially he wasn’t truthful. He denied taking pictures. We found pictures of the girl. It was inappropriate but no violation of the law.”
Davie Police checked the Florida Department of Law Enforcement and the state of New York and found no provisions barring Fezza from taking such pictures.
They can also not prove Fezza violated the state’s voyeurism law.
“First we have to be able to prove he took the pictures for lewd reasons,” he said. “Second there has to be an expectation of privacy and in such public places as Publix, there is no expectation of privacy.”
Engle said that police deleted the picture they found on Fezza’s phone of Leon’s daughter.
Fezza, however, was told though to stay away from the supermarket and police said he was given a 30-day notice of violation of a city ordinance that as a sexual offender he lives within certain distance of a school, daycare or park.
A manager where Fezza lived told CBS4 Friday that he has been evicted.
Leon plans to join other mothers Saturday at 8:30 a.m. in passing out flyers about the sex offender being in the area of Pines Boulevard just east of University Drive where Fezza lived. Parkhurst is an activist.  She plans to join the protest and pass out flyers.  “Normal people don’t do this.  this guy isn’t normal.  he got caught.”
Leon told CBS4’s Peter D’Oench, “It is disgusting. I am angry. I am really determined to warn other parents that this is happening.”
A warning was posted on Facebook about Fezza for parents in the area of Davie, Hollywood and Pembroke Pines.
Police want to know if anyone has noticed other suspicious activity in the area. Call Crime Stoppers at (954) 493-TIPS.

Maybe that Maria Leon woman should get better associates that the Valcoholic.

Bithlo man guilty of beating 78-year-old man to death

I would investigate groups like No Peace For Predators (David Rowe), Predator Patrol (Judy Cornett), Stop FL Action Committee (Valerie "Valigator" Parkhurst), and Bee Aware/ Bzz Busted (Barbara Farris). I wouldn't doubt a connection between one or more of these Florida groups and these monsters.

Bithlo man guilty of beating 78-year-old man to death


ORANGE COUNTY, Fla. — A Bithlo man will spend the rest of his life in prison for beating to death a 78-year-old man he mistakenly thought was a sex offender
Robert Pascale, 22, had no reaction on Friday as the judge read the “guilty of first-degree murder’’ verdict in the 2010 slaying of Hugh Edwards. The sentence carries a mandatory life sentence.
Prosecutors said Pascale and Michael Garay, who had previously been convicted, beat Edwards to death with a baseball bat in May 2010 because they thought he was a sex offender.   
On Friday, paramedics had to be called to Orange County Courthouse after Ruth Pascale, the defendant’s mother, was overcome with emotion and collapsed on the courtroom floor. She did manage to walk out of the courthouse on her own.
Moments after the verdict, Robert Pascale said as he was being led away, "It's not over until God says it is. I'm still coming home."
Prosecutor William Jay emphasized during closing arguments that Pascale admitted several times, including in an interview aired on WFTV, that he beat Edwards with a baseball bat.
Pascale’s attorney, Roger Weeden, argued that his client was only guilty of aggravated assault and not premeditated murder. Weeden said Pascale chose not to testify in his own defense because prosecutors could have then asked him about his prior felony convictions for robbery, battery and grand theft.
Garay is already serving a life sentence.

Plans For Sex Offender Village In Lake County

SORRENTO, Fla. -- A Tampa woman is planning to open a village within a Lake County town that would house sex offenders and predators--perhaps hundreds or thousands of them.Barbara Farris said the town of Sorrento is a great place to re-locate registered offenders because of its distance from the hustle and bustle of places like Orlando."[It's] far enough from civilization from where they're not around parks and kids," Farris said. "They're not going to be surrounded or have temptations."Farris recently started a company called SOS, which is short for Sex Offender Solutions. It provides registered offenders with housing, transportation, jobs and counseling.When asked if the idea of a town for sex offenders could actually happen, Farris said she thinks it could."It's absolutely realistic," Farris said. "We've joined on with some people making it very realistic for us."But many people in Sorrento didn’t agree."She might have a big fight on her hands if this happens," one resident said.Gregg Welstead, Director of the Lake County Conservation and Compliance Department, said the county does not have any specific rules related to this.But the county relies on and follows the guidelines set in state statute with regard to distances that sex offenders can live from schools, parks and playgrounds, he said in a statement.He also said there could be zoning issues or density considerations that might require a public hearing.Farris said she has plans to open other housing villages in South Florida and California."The goal is to prevent another abduction, death or abuse," she said.

No Peace for David Rowe

Who is this person, you ask? This is David Rowe, the self-proclaimed leader of a small vigilante group called "No Peace For Predators." The group's goal is "That the Sexual Predator becomes Exposed, Exiled, and ultimately, Extinct." They were founded in 2009 as a response to the Somer Thompson case, so they claim on their FB page:

 

Just your run-of-the-mill vigilante group. In fact, their only real claim to fame was harassing a former offender who, desperate for income, bought an ice cream truck. While I agree a registrant shouldn't be driving an ice cream truck (if nothing else than for appearance reasons), I was appalled by the threats and harassment by Rowe and company, who videotaped the harassment then posted it online. 

David Rowe states in many places he is a "Christian." He even quotes Bible Scripture:
