Now hear this: "Deaf" Vigilante scumbag gets 20 years in a Texas state prison for unprovoked shooting of Person Forced to Register

Charles Austin Broyles, lowlife vigilante piece of crap, won't need a sign language interpreter to decipher the message i'll have for him should we ever cross paths.

The article was written in a reverse timeline format so I've reorganized the report for better reading (It was mentioned in other reports the vigi-scum visited two other residences but his targets were not home):

Charles Broyles gets 20 years in prison after jury finds him guilty of aggravated assault with a deadly weapon

6/8/25

By SARA VANDEN BERGE

Charles Broyles is heading to prison.

It took an Erath County jury of five women and seven men less than an hour on Thursday to find Charles Broyles guilty of aggravated assault with a deadly weapon.

An Erath County jury on Friday sentenced the “vigilante shooter” to 20 years in prison following Thursday’s guilty verdict.

Charles Broyles stood accused of targeting registered persons living in Stephenville.

Broyles has been charged with shooting Randell C. in the face on the night of Dec. 3, 2023.

C. told jurors that on the night of Dec. 3, 2023, he was in the living room around 10 p.m. when someone started knocking on the door of his home in the Starlight Mobile Home Park in Stephenville.

“I asked who it was and there was no answer,” C. said. “I was hesitant to answer the door and I looked out the window,” but saw no one.

He said the knocking continued and he went to the kitchen to get a “steak knife.”

He told jurors that he carried the knife in his right hand as he made his way to the front door.

“As it was opening, I was jolted forward to the porch and that’s when they stepped out and shoved a phone in my face,” he said.

The phone, Cowan said, had a picture of him from the sex offender registry.

He said he heard the assailant say, “Is this you?”

“I nodded and that’s when there was a loud ringing in my ears and I fell back into the house,” Cowan said.

“I noticed there was blood everywhere. I could hear my mother screaming as I was trying to figure out where all the blood was coming from.”

He said he could hear his mother talking to someone, then heard sirens in the distance.

“She was screaming that the paramedics were coming to help me,” he said.

C. said he had never met Broyles and has no connection to him.

C. said he spent 37 days in the hospital and underwent five surgeries. He said he continues to experience numbness, dizziness and trouble eating.

Wannabe vigilante tries murdering a person he accuses of a sex crime and fails miserably

I am a skeptic. I don't take anything at face value. We don't know the entire story, other than one man accused another man of a sex offense and decided to play judge, jusy, and executioner. If what Sanchez claimed was true, then the police should've been called in to investigate. But NOTHING in this story adds up. It seems to me Sanchez just made up this story. He looks like the type who hears voices, whether or not mind-altering substances were involved.

The police are generally scumbags but at least there is usually a set of standards they must go by when determining guilt or innocence. Vigilantes lack scruples. Also, it is far to easy to make a false claim just to elicit sympathy.

Call to 911 backfires on Pleasant Farms man

By Odessa American -August 14, 2023

Daniel Renee Sanchez

A Pleasant Farms man who thought deputies were going to come to his house to arrest a man he described as a sex offender was arrested instead.

According to an Ector County Sheriff’s Office report, Daniel Renee Sanchez, 37, called 911 Sunday to say he’d detained a sex offender on his property in the 4500 block of West Mulberry Street.

When deputies arrived, Sanchez said he’d detained, at gunpoint, a 21-year-old man who had texted inappropriate things to his stepson a week prior, the report stated.

The younger man told deputies Sanchez had invited him over to smoke and when he arrived, Sanchez said he was going inside for water. According to the report, when Sanchez came out, the man said he pushed him to the ground and began kicking and hitting him.

“(The alleged victim) stated that Daniel then put a gun to his head, told him he will never hurt a child again and then pulled the slide back on the gun and the gun jammed,” the report stated. “(He) believes that if the gun had not jammed, Daniel would have shot him, causing him serious bodily injury or death.”

A neighbor told deputies he saw Sanchez with a gun making threats to the younger man, the report stated.

Deputies found a 9 mm handgun inside Sanchez’s RV, according to the report.

Sanchez was arrested on suspicion of aggravated assault with a deadly weapon.

Edgar Del Real (-ly stupid) failed epically at becoming a vigilante and it costed him the life of a friend

Edgar Del Real says he wishes he had been the one to die that day, and I agree. Well he has plenty of time to do that since he only got probation for murder.

It should be noted he and a friend went to a man's house to kill him, and ended up getting shot at for his trouble, so he's not only bad at murdering, he will have to spend the rest of his life being laughed at for getting his ass beat by a person he accused of being a sex offender.

No mercy for vigilante thugs who kill!

https://www.nwitimes.com/news/probation-for-man-who-accidentally-killed-friend-during-fight-with-child-sex-abuse-suspect/article_3af94716-4cb5-53d8-b4ee-09c33239f6ed.html

Probation for man who accidentally killed friend during fight with child sex abuse suspect

Sarah Reese Aug 25, 2020

CROWN POINT — A Hammond man won't serve any additional jail time for killing a friend in 2018 when a shotgun accidentally discharged as they fought with a third man, whom the defendant suspected had molested his then-8-year-old relative.

Edgar Del Real, 39, pleaded guilty in March to reckless homicide, a level 5 felony, in the death of Steven Robledo, 37, of Chicago, on Sept. 22, 2018, in the 2600 block of White Oak Avenue in Whiting.

Del Real served nearly seven months in jail after he was charged with murder in September 2018.

Lake Criminal Court Judge Jamise Perkins sentenced him Tuesday to nine months in prison, followed by 21 months of probation. With credit for jail and good time, Del Real already has completed his time behind bars.

Lake County Supervisory Deputy Prosecutor Eric Randall requested a sentence with additional jail time, in part, because the case involved a death.

Defense attorney Scott King asked Perkins to empathize with Del Real, who made a report with Whiting police about his relative's alleged sexual abuse.

Del Real complied with every request made by investigators, King said. However, police told Del Real that Lake County prosecutors would not file charges against the alleged abuser because they did not think they could win the case on the relative's word alone.

Del Real was disappointed in that decision when he met up with Robledo at a bar, and the two decided to go beat up the man Del Real suspected of abusing his relative.

Del Real and Robledo walked into the man's apartment building, where the man met them at his door holding a shotgun, King said. Del Real wrestled the gun away from the man, and it went off as Del Real and Robledo headed back down a flight of stairs.

When police arrived at the shooting scene, the man Del Real and Robledo went to confront "asserted his right not to answer any police questions" while sitting at the back of an ambulance, King said.

"This is vigilante justice," King said.

Del Real said he never intended to kill Robledo and apologized.

"If anyone should have lost his life, it should have been me," he said.

Perkins said she could understand Del Real's motivation, but the court can never condone taking matters into one's own hands.

No matter what sentence the court imposes, "a life is lost," she said.

She declined to count Del Real's previous contact with police about 20 years ago against him, because it didn't result in a conviction. Del Real had led a law-abiding life until Robledo's homicide, she said.

Perkins also noted a letter from a therapist for Del Real's relative, which stated Del Real is an asset in the girl's continuing treatment.

Another one of Valerie Parkhurst's "heroes" is off the street for at least the next 13 years

Timothy "Silenco" Gould

I bet Val will be more upset knowing this guy joined the reform movement. But at least the streets are safer with Silencio silenced for at least 13 years.

Redding man takes plea bargain in shooting of registered sex offender
12:27 PM, Dec 1, 2015

REDDING, California - A 28-year-old Redding man pleaded guilty today in Shasta County Superior Court to attempted murder and use of a firearm in connection with the September shooting of a registered sex offender.

In exchange for his guilty plea, Timothy Joseph Gould will be sentenced Feb. 2 to 15 years in prison.

Gould must serve 85 percent of his sentence — about nearly 13 years — before he’s eligible for parole.

Gould entered his plea after being ordered last month to stand trial on attempted murder and other charges in the Sept. 19 shooting of Roy Anthony Matagora, 62, also of Redding.

If he had been tried and convicted of the charges against him, Gould faced a potential life sentence.

Police said Gould shot Matagora after discovering that he was a registered sex offender.

Matagora, who witnessed the court proceeding from the back row of the courtroom, said afterward he does not entirely buy that explanation, but was satisfied with Gould’s plea bargain.

And, he said, he harbors no ill will toward Gould.

“I don’t hold anything against him,” he said, adding he does not know why Gould shot him. “It’s too bad he got caught up in all of this. All he had to do was give the car back.”

According to a Shasta County sheriff’s investigative report, Matagora had gone to the Shasta Lake residence to try to find Tanna Nicole Curran to get back his car that he had earlier allowed her to borrow.

Curran had been dating Gould for about three days before the shooting, sheriff’s investigators have said.

According to the sheriff’s report, Matagora had texted Curran that he was at the Main Street house and wanted his car returned.

Matagora told deputies that he later received a telephone call from Gould , who called him a child molester and said he “knew people who would take care of him,” the report said.

“Matagora took this as a threat,” the report states. “Matagora told Gould he knew nothing about his past case or his past conviction regarding this (sex offense) crime and he was just trying to get his vehicle back,” the report states.

Gould , known by the nickname “Silencio,” continued to yell at Matagora, telling him he was from the “South Side,” referring to a gang, the sheriff’s report said.

Matagora said he hung up on Gould. About two hours later Matagora heard a knocking at the door. He opened it to see Gould pointing a handgun at him.

As Matagora tried to run away, Gould shot him in the hand and calf.

Matagora has since joined a lawsuit filed in Los Angeles Superior Court by the California Reform Sex Offenders organization against the state for alleged mismanagement of the Megan’s Law online database.

Three vigilante thugs try to burn down apartment building to go after registrant, kills elderly woman instead

Here are three more of Valerie Parkhurst's "heroes," burning down an entire apartment building just to go after a sex offender.

2 suspects go to Troy in fatal arson
2 waive extradition, 3rd to have hearing in North Carolina
By Kenneth C. Crowe II

Val's Hero #1: Abbey Slaga

Two of the three suspects in the fatal May 1 arson have waived extradition from North Carolina while the third will have a hearing next week on returning to Troy, a spokesman for Rensselaer County District Attorney Joel Abelove said Monday.

The three are charged with first-degree arson for allegedly setting the fire, which authorities now believe caused the death of Gladys Halpin, 82.

Halpin was rescued from the 520 Second Ave. apartment building fire, during which she suffered a heart attack. Firefighters were able to revive her and get her to the hospital. She died May 23 at Bay State General Hospital in Massachusetts. Final autopsy results have not yet been released.

On Sunday, David Stanley, 22, of East Greenbush, was arraigned in City Court and sent to the jail without bail, police spokesman Capt. Daniel DeWolf said. He had previously waived extradition in North Carolina before being brought to Troy.

On Monday, Tyler Smith, 24, formerly of Castleton, waived his extradition at a hearing in Raleigh, N.C., and will be back in Troy by the end of the week, said Jonathan Desso, a spokesman for Abelove.

Abby Slaga, 21, of East Greenbush, did not waive extradition because she wanted to consult with an attorney, Desso said. Slaga's hearing will be June 16 in Franklin County, N.C. She will continue to be held on a fugitive from justice warrant in the Franklin County Jail without bail.

Stanley, Slaga and Smith were arrested last week by Raleigh police and Franklin County deputies on fugitive warrants issued in Troy. City detectives took part in the arrests.
Val's hero #2: Tyler Smith

DeWolf said detectives would return to Raleigh to bring back Smith.

According to Stanley's arrest report and criminal complaint, at least two people have given statements to police about what they saw and heard that night.

Those witnesses said Monday that the three defendants and a man who lived on the second floor of 520 Second Ave. had a feud over money that was apparently stolen from the tenant.

"They spray painted 'Rapo' on his door and on the building," said one witness who did not want his name used. "He was a Level 1 sex offender, we were told, but it sounded to me like they were arguing over money. I could smell the gasoline they used to set the fire outside his door."

The target of the flames was convicted of a sex crime in 2004, officials said.

Another witness said she had just come home from work that night and heard the argument and went to see what was going on.

"Then I saw the whole building just go 'boom' and saw the three people run out the door, one on fire. I then rushed around to make sure everyone was getting out."

Smith had been out of state prison for just a week before he allegedly took part in setting the fatal fire, according to authorities and New York state inmate records. He had been in prison for attempted burglary in Rensselaer County.

The three fled to the home in North Carolina of a relative of one of the suspects.

Officials said all three were friends and Slaga was involved in a romantic relationship with one of the men, but they did not specify which one.

Officials declined to say how the fire was set.

A video from the night of the fire appeared to show three people fleeing the building at 520 Second Ave.

The fire spread to neighboring 518 Second Ave. next door. Both buildings were heavily damaged and are now boarded up.

The investigation continues, and authorities have not ruled out additional charges.

The May 1 fire has not been linked to an earlier string of 13 fires set in Lansingburgh between July 2014 and February 2015, police said.

Vigilante Thug Jay Maynor is not "Hero"; Vigilante Violence is NEVER "Justice"

Jeremy and Christine Moody -- Skinhead "Heroes"
How do we rehabilitate a sex offender? They cannot be fixed, what they can do, is convinced the Psychologists that they are ‘fixed’ and they are safe to be released into society. The only cure for child abusers and molesters is to have every member of their immediate family killed. These nefarious crimes and people should not be allowed to procreate. By destroying their immediate family members, you purify the blood line. This is the only way to ensure that they (the pervert or family) cannot ever hurt a child again. Liberals will think that these statements are immature and that I must be empty headed. How many people consider the children that were abused or molested? What about the mental destruction that this child has to live with for the rest of their lives? How these children will find it difficult to ever trust another person. How these children may possibly never be able to have children of their own, because they were raped so severe, that it damaged them permanently? I don't think my suggestion is immature, I think it's the only answer, and if you don't agree, then you two should be destroyed[i].” – Jeremy Moody, “Yesterday, Today, and Tomorrow.” Lulu Publishing, 2012. p.5

On Sunday, June 8, 2014, Jay Maynor[ii] of Cullman, Alabama shot and killed Raymond Earl Brooks, a registered citizen, who had served time for a sex crime against Maynor’s daughter 12 years ago[iii]. As with any story involving so-called “vigilante justice,” there are plenty of individuals coming out of the woodwork proclaiming this man a “hero.” The killer’s family has set up a Facebook page[iv] and a defense fund[v], and has raised $1500 in 10 days (the listed goal is $5000). A few of the comments from the fundraiser page are frightening and disturbing indeed:

There is no room in this world for pedophiles. They cannot be rehabilitated, and there is no cure. They should all be chucked off a boat and left for sharks.” – Holly Perkins

We have several sexual offenders living around us. Unless they start neutering them, I am with Mr. Maynor kind of justice.” – Kat Perry, who donated $5.00

As a survivor of abuse I support Mr. Maynor for seeking justice for his daughter. This demon should have never been allowed to walk the streets again, to have the chance to abuse another child. You are a hero to me Mr. Maynor.” – Jeanna Phillips, who donated $20.00

Jay Maynor's Mugshot
A woman by the name of Kayla Maddux[vi], whose Facebook picture is a blue variation of the “Keep Calm” internet meme proclaiming “Keep Calm and Free Jaybird,” posted a comment to detractors at the Cullman Times, stating, “Dont [sic] go trying to tell facts when you dont know them.” When has the lack of facts stop the mass media from exploiting the tragedy for ratings? Even though the AP story didn’t mention the shooter’s name to “protect the victim’s identity,” they had no reservations posting the victim’s mug shot and proclaim him a sex offender[vii]. The lack of details didn’t stop Catherine Connors, an executive with the Walt Disney Company and “award winning blogger,” from writing a post on the Nancy Grace HLN site hinting that what Maynor did, although legally wrong, is understandable and she would be tempted to do the same thing. Connors states, “I know, if something like this happened to me, I might be tempted to do wrong, too[viii].” Michelle Lund from CrimeJail.com called the victim’s father a “pedo-sympathizer” and claimed that Cullman County Sheriff Mike Rainey cares more about sex offenders than “a father who had to watch her child suffer[ix].” Dr. Drew’s “Behavioral Bureau” also added their two cents[x]. HLN is notorious for focusing on stories such as this one.

The Dr. Drew show deserves a more in-depth critique. I have had the privilege of taking on Dr. Drew’s “Behavior Bureau” on two occasions in the past year. This is how the Bureau works – the show invites a panel of personalities to come on the show to discuss various topics, and not all of the panelists have explicit knowledge of the subject at hand. For this particular episode, the panelists were Leeann Tweeden, a TV sportscaster for poker and baseball’s Anaheim Angels, Anahita Sedaghatfar, a civil defense attorney and TV analyst, and Jason Ellis, a journeyman MMA fighter (who only fought two matches) who hosts a show on Sirius XM radio. Out of three individuals, only one has any degree of criminal justice experience, so the outcome of the show should come as no surprise.

Defense attorney Anahita Sedaghatfar stated she was against vigilante violence and that we can't be allowed to take the law into our own hands, but in the end, she still stated, “I would definitely defend [Maynor]. I think he has a strong case for mitigation in terms of sentencing.” As expected, the discussion simply went downhill from this point. Leeann Tweeden stares glaringly into the camera and proudly proclaims, “You do that to my child, I will shoot you in the head.” Jason Ellis gave the strangest statement of all. So, I don`t wanna -- I already said what I had to say, this -- when you bring up the extra -- I mean, I didn`t remember until I was 40 who the guy was that molested me. So, I didn`t know until I was about 26 that I`d been molested. I had to take a bunch of acid and they also recall it. Then, at 40 I find out who it is, because my body can`t even handle knowing who it is. You did that to that girl in that fashion, I don`t need to be related to the girl, I`ll kill him right now [xi].” It is interesting that Jason Ellis just stated that he “recalled” abuse that happened decades ago. (The False Memory Syndrome[xii] controversy continues, but that is a discussion for a different day.) The point is whether we want a person who took headshots for a living (like Ellis) or some “eye-candy” model who peddles her body for a living (like Weeden) to dictate the rules of society, especially not knowing the whole story behind the murders.

Returning to Kayla Maddux’s statement about knowing “all the facts,” supplemental articles have put together the facts. This is the complete story up until this point. The day of the murder, Jay Maynor got into an argument with his stepdaughter’s boyfriend (investigators say there was “bad blood” between the two men), and apparently, somewhere along the way, the boyfriend used the sexual abuse narrative to criticize Maynor, sending him into a rage. Maynor pulled out a gun and shot into the Berlin Quick Mart gas station where the boyfriend was sitting. Maynor then went to the home of Raymond Earl Brooks and ambushed him, killing him in the home of his parents. The defense made the claim that a “catalyst” or “triggering event” that should considered mitigating factors for lowering his bail[xiii].

It is rather ironic that the term “trigger” was used Maynor’s defense since pulling a gun trigger landed Maynor in jail. The term “Trigger Warning” (or TW for short) is a relatively new buzzword. “In the area of mental health, a trigger is something which causes instant distress in a vulnerable person. If you know what can trigger a bad reaction, you can try to avoid those triggers in the same way that someone with an allergy might take steps to avoid dogs.” Trigger warnings first appeared on feminist websites to flag up stories of abuse[xiv]. This word is particularly dangerous because, in the words of Rhiannon Cosslett, triggers “smacked to me of victimhood.” Cosslett does not believe triggers hinder free speech, but states, “they do display an increasingly nannying approach to language that is being used to shut down discourse and to silence. Often, it is coupled with a sense of passive aggressive glee…I do not doubt that they are of enormous service to survivors with specific triggers likely to reoccur on feminist websites, but it has got to a point now where I feel women I have never met are trying to wrap me in cotton wool, and I detest that. PTSD can make you hypersensitive and hyper-aware…[xv]”Furthermore, trigger words perpetuates cultural victimhood; as one example, college campuses are considering placing trigger warnings on classic literature because people do not like feeling even slightly uncomfortable. As one RT reporter proclaimed, “Our kids WANT to be nannied. They WANT to be protected, and feel safe, and coddled [xvi].” And fear justifies some very atrocious behavior, like canonizing a man who shoots into a business establishment because he later killed a pariah of society.

When society canonizes a vigilante, society overlooks a lot of things; however, we should not forget Maynor’s actions have harmed many people, not just the murdered Registrant. Those victimized by Maynor’s actions found Maynor to be anything but heroic.

At Maynor’s bond hearing, “Cullman County District Attorney Wilson Blaylock called two witnesses, Jeremy Trimble and Bobby Weeks, who were present for the gas station shooting. Trimble testified he was present in the store at the time of the shooting and claimed one of the stray bullets came within 10 feet of hitting his child. ‘I was alarmed for my son’s safety and it made my heart stop,” he said. “He tried to shoot someone and shot another man.’Weeks was attending a child’s birthday party at the karaoke business located beside the gas station and said he heard a gun shot then looked outside to see Maynor with a gun drawn chasing another man. At that point, Weeks said he gathered the children together and took them inside for safety. ‘It sounded like he was yelling, ‘Come here you motherfucker,’ Weeks testified. ‘It scared me and the kids[xvii].’”

Jay Maynor shows us how he feels about society's rules
“Mike Hays, who cooks and operates a small barbecue restaurant inside Berlin Plaza Quick Stop, where the shooting occurred, said he came face-to-face with the shooter after the man opened fire outside and then entered the store looking for his intended victim, who wasn't hurt. ‘People here are calling him a hero for killing a child molester. I'm calling him a psychopathic lunatic for endangering peoples' lives, including mine,’ Hays said. After stopping his motorcycle at an intersection outside the store, the father fired once at a man who was standing beside an ice cooler, Hays said. The bullet entered an exterior wall of the store and chipped a window but no one was injured. Hays said he retrieved his own weapon and confronted [Maynor] near the cash register. ‘He had the gun down by his side. He was calm, as calm as you are standing there now. But he had that look in his eye,’ said Hays. ‘I have no problem with him shooting a child molester, just not 12 years later. If it was my daughter he would have died back in 2002[xviii].’”

“Brooks' father, Ralph Brooks, told WBRC-TV in Birmingham that his son did not deserve to die. He said Raymond Earl Brooks turned his life around after his conviction and lived a godly life that included being active in his church. Because his son's conviction happened so long ago, he said he couldn't be sure if the shooting was a form of revenge. ‘It would be unbelievable to hold animosity in your heart for 12 years,’ Brooks said[xix].”

It should not be surprising with anyone that Jay Maynor had a criminal history. Maynor had made several court appearances over the years—once for DUI and three times for domestic violence (though the domestic violence charges were eventually dropped). It is laughable Maynor’s defense attorney brought these prior charges up in attempt to show the court that Maynor would come to court responsibly and should thus receive a lower bond. Thankfully bail was not reduced[xx].

This story has played out numerous times over the years. This brings me to the statement by Jeremy Moody at the beginning of this article. Moody’s proclamation could have been written just as easily by any anonymous commenter. But Moody’s proclamation was written in a self-written skinhead manifesto, alongside discussions on racial purity and ethnic cleansing. (Ironically, the head of Moody’s skinhead group, known as “Crew 41,” is a Registered Citizen[xxi].) Patrick Drum, who murdered two registrants in Washington State in 2012, had 47 criminal convictions over a 15 year period, including assault, drug, and burglary charges. One of his victims landed on the list for a consensual act with a teen when he was 17 years old. Drum and the Moody clan were unrepentant thugs with disgusting pasts. Had they killed anyone else, society would not have given any of them a second thought except to call for the heads of these men on a silver platter. But because their victims were Registered Citizens, people want to give murderers a free pass.
Even the Neo-Nazi skinhead Jeremy Moody had support from the public, as illustrated by this statement from a CNN commenter:

Kimberly269life – “In this case the dude had been convicted of a sex crime on a child!where is the good old killemall mindset we normally apply to pedophiles? What is your prob people? Pedophilia is a well known incurable condition-even castration doesn not cure this despicable condition in many men! He def needed killing. His wife on the other hand seems to have been collateral damage-but thats the price you pay for being connected to child molesters! Its true that many wives allow crimes against children-their own and others-by doing nothing and turning away. They are culpable. They are helping ! Nazis and other white supremists are really disgusting people-yes-but the pedophile is probably even lower ...frankly its a win/win from what I can see[xxii]” [Kimberly’s grammatical errors included]

The vigilante violence and the people who support them are definitive proof the registry, or any degree of public disclosure of Registered Citizens in the community, should be abolished. Until the registry is abolished, we will see this same story play out repeatedly in the coming years. Patt Morrison from the LA Times says, “Justice in a democracy cannot be some tit-for-tat clan vendetta, or determined by bribes or bias. It must be the dispassionate act of the people and the state, whose good order and laws have been violated. Vigilante justice erodes the authority and regard for a legal system that can’t be about vengeance or passion… And when an Alabama father or a California mother usurps that role, they are not heroes, because vengeance is not justice. And justice, not just someone’s child, becomes a victim too[xxiii].”The registry is a “catalyst” and a “trigger event” that enrages the community, and when a person is assaulted or murdered because of this registry, justice is perverted.

If you are going to play vigilante, at least learn to shoot

There is no place in society for half-cocked vigilante with a loaded gun, and stories like this illustrate just why the focus on sex crimes in society should be re-evaluated. When someone is accused of a sex crime, people feel it is open season on them. Somehow it is seen as okay to shoot blindly into a building of the accused. Now another crazy vigilante faces serious charges-- attempted-murder and assault. Well that's one less dangerous AZU member/reader on the streets.

Mother Is Charged In Mistaken Child Molester Shooting

Affidavit: Tarrara Garcia Believed Intended Target Molested Her Son

POSTED: 12:25 am MST January 10, 2012
UPDATED: 12:52 am MST January 10, 2012

Prosecutors have filed two counts of attempted murder against a Greeley woman accused of shooting one man and firing 27 bullets at another man whom police believe was her intended target.
The Greeley Tribune reported that 25-year-old Tarrara Garcia will also face two sentence enhancers of committing a violent crime using a weapon.
It started when a grandmother called Greeley Police on Christmas night and said her grandson had been sexually assaulted.
A police officer said he took the boy and his mother to the Medical Center of the Rockies for an exam. The officer said on the way to the hospital, Garcia asked if she could borrow his duty rifle "because she wanted to go shoot the person who touched her son," according to the incident report obtained by 7NEWS.
The shooting happened four days later at an apartment in Kersey. Investigators said Garcia suspected her intended target had sexually assaulted her son on Dec. 25. That man, who has denied the allegations, was not hurt, but 51-year-old John Collins was shot in the leg and hip.
Weld County Undersheriff Margie Martinez confirmed the intended victim was in the apartment at the time of the shooting, but was not hurt. Three other adults and three children were also in the apartment -- but no one else was hurt by the spray of gunfire.
The intended target told investigators he was in a chair next to the victim who was shot. He told police when the shooting started, he ran to the kitchen.
"The investigation revealed Garcia was handling justice on her own in regards to a sex assault incident that was reported to Greeley Police Department four days prior to the shooting," said Weld County Undersheriff Margie Martinez.
Garcia's friend, Khanh Tran, of Commerce City, was arrested on suspicion of being an accessory to a crime. Tran told police Garcia called him on Dec. 29 and asked him to meet her. Tran told police he felt Garcia was going to go stab the person accused of sexually assaulting her son, according to the incident report.
Garcia asked Tran to wait for her, and when she returned, Tran said she had a gun with her and that she said she "saw him through the window and 'shot him,' " according to the incident report.
Tran said when Garcia went to bed, he took the rifle, magazine and ammunition and put them in trash bins.
Tran is free on bond. Garcia remains jailed under a $500,000 bond.

Son of notorious vigilante Judy Cornett sentenced to 25 years for attempted murder, drugs

You live by the sword, you die by the sword - apparently Judy Cornett's support of violence and blind hatred rubbed off on her son so much he feels his past as a victim justified his adult life of crime. Rather than truly help victims by promoting healing, Cornett, like her AZU buddies, promotes solving problems by harassing and hurting others. I pray AZU members don't have kids, lest we see more kids of vigilantes in prison.

TAMPA — As a young boy, Jason Edward Flores survived a child's worst nightmare when he was abducted, brutally raped and left for dead. The 11-year-old's road to manhood continued to be anything but smooth. His long history of run-ins with the law, which included drug convictions and prison time for burglary, ended Wednesday as Flores was sentenced to 25 years for two counts of attempted second-degree murder and home invasion robbery. Flores, 28, seemed calm as he pleaded guilty moments before Hillsborough Circuit Judge Robert Foster sentenced him to the mandatory minimum. Earlier in the court proceedings, a different image emerged as Flores tried to place his shackled hands around his mother and cried in her arms. "Sitting next to my son was one of the worst feelings of my life," said Judy Cornett, who called the St. Petersburg Times from a bed at Tampa General Hospital's emergency room. Cornett, 47, collapsed in court as bailiffs escorted her back to her seat. Paramedics were called and carried her out on a stretcher. Since Flores' abduction and rape in 1992, Cornett has dedicated her life to battling sex crimes. She founded Safety Zone Advocacy, a nonprofit organization that teaches kids to protect themselves against sexual predators. She also coaches parents who find themselves in the media spotlight when their children become victims of child predators. Cornett aided Mark Lunsford, when his 9-year-old daughter, Jessica, was abducted and killed in Homosassa in 2005. And she housed and clothed Susan Schorpen during the trial for the man convicted in the 2004 abduction and murder in Sarasota of Schorpen's 11-year-old daughter, Carlie Brucia.

His past is tragic but it does not excuse the following:

Flores was sentenced Wednesday on charges stemming from a home invasion that occurred June 26, 2008. Prosecutors said Flores and two co-defendants — Matthew Edward Wilsky and Kristen Marie Mangum — entered a home in a neighborhood west of Busch Gardens to take prescription drugs. The trio struggled with residents Terry and Lora Holmes. Prosecutors said Flores fired a shotgun into the Holmes' bedroom, striking Lora in the hand and Terry in the side. Both survived, but Lora Holmes is partly paralyzed in her hand, prosecutors said. The three fled to a Pasco County hotel with about $1,000 in cash and pills they had stolen from the Holmeses.

I've said it a million times, it is different when its one of their own on the chopping block. Notice how Cornett justifies and minimizes her son's adult criminal behavior by talking about his childhood. What if I blamed my crime on my childhood, eh? Would you buy it then? What happened in your youth DOES NOT JUSTIFY trying to kill two innocent people!

Cornett said Flores never had proper psychological treatment after his rape and abduction and often self-medicated. "I can't blame 100 percent on it, but I can definitely say it has been a strong contributing factor," she said about her son's rape and lack of proper assistance. As she sat next to Flores in court, Cornett said she promised to be there when he's released. "I told him I was going to continue to fight for him and that he's my baby and I love him," Cornett said. "He said, 'Thank you, Mommy,' and 'I love you.' "

Can you believe the nerve if Cornett? Asking people to send her money for her criminal son? [see http://www.saverkids.webs.com/]

He certainly learned violent behavior from his mother. Below are a few of Judy's choice comments--
